You guys don't look scary

OC meet at Bakerview Starbucks.
A young lady walked up to our table and said
"you guys don't look scary, but your carrying guns".
That started a 10 minute conversation about self-defense
and the importance of arming yourself in public.
We all had something to say to her and she asked questions
and was genuinely interested. Gave her a Washington State
Gun Rights pamphlet and she left happy and with an education.
I am sure she is going to tell all her friends about the "cool guys"
carrying sidearms.
Good Meet.

John no need to look for a holster, he got one and he is now OC'ing with us. Yay!

Oh and I went to to Dr. Seeley Dental office for a cleaning and OC'd the whole time. Nothing said by the Dr. or the staff. Very friendly professional place.

Cool Doc. I remember going to get an eye exam recently without anyone noticing. I just don't get that much notice of it. Remember, "You don't look like scary guys!"

Just reminded me, I've been to Creekside Dental on Hannegan about a half dozen times in the past year and not once has anyone even mentioned the 45 on my hip.

Dammit! I am just socially pathetic. I completely forgot about the party, I totally would have been there, instead I sat at home watching Psych reruns and wishing I had something interesting to do. Cr@p!

I love that show. Just worked my way through the whole thing on Netflix. Esp like the one where they do the Tears for Fears/Michael Jackson lipsync.

I got rid of the Blackberry but I have text messaging now. :)

PS (On topic post)

OC in Super Supplements at the corner of Lakeway and Holly (where the road switches), several times, no problems
Les Schwab on James Street
Shell station at the North Lake Samish exit
Somewhere else I hadn't been before but darned if I can remember where it was now. My CRS is kicking in.

Halloween

Well halloween is a big thing at my house. This year I had the Ruger in kydex throughout the night. There were 121 kids and twice as many adults. Yes, many people noticed the weapon. Not even a hint of negativity all night. It was great. Lots of kids, none of them scared by me and my weapon did not jump out of my holster and go off. What great fun. Lori and I were dead tired after that.View attachment 7284

I needed to go to the courthouse the other day to get a replacement ballot. I parked outside in the 15min park thinking I would not need more. I popped into the building (saw the 'no weapon' sign") and went right over to the metal detector. I told the guy I had to check a weapon, we traded a DL for a key. He pointed to the box (4compartments) I parked it, did my business, rearmed, and traded my key for the DL. No worries and everybody had a smile on their face. Next time I will go without ID.

I'll be interested if they let you in. They are breaking the law when it comes to letting me in in this regard.

If lock boxes are available, why do I need ID to get a key? Last time out I was in a bit of a rush and conceded.

I totally agree but I have had conversations with the prosecutor apparently he feels compelled to prosecute citizens who exercise free speech but doesn't want to compel and advises the county facilities manager Mike Rawley to demand state ID.

When I asked what law authorizes him to do so he said he can be "more restrictive" when I read the part that says they can't be more restrictive, he said it a "reasonable request". When I asked him to back that position up with law, he said "we are done" and hung up the phone.

I did get the ropes moved around so now we have access to the whole first floor.

I have some other ways of working at this too but because of elections it has to wait till after January. Everybody too busy politicking.

Sweet Baboo and I were in B'ham Kmart last night. I was approached by an employee that was amazed that I was OCing. He said he was 18 and wanted to carry but "Did not have his license yet". As we started talking two more joined in the conversation, all wanting to OC. I gave them the website and sent them to 'green is faster' for an education on "how to" for 18-21s

On another note, Who will be taking advantage of the applebys meal in B'ham. Lori and I are thinking about 1800 on sunset

Community is for Crisis

Dear Sudden Valley Gunner,

I have PM'ed you. No response. That's OK. I understand you need time.
However, your OC friends are worried.
YOU are a vital part of our community. Hell, your the captain.
You have lead the charge for 2A rights in Bellingham.
You were there the very first day I OC'ed.
You have helped me with my understanding of law and civil rights.
And I thank you.
The value of community is for crisis.
You don't have to go-it-alone. Your friends are here for you
whenever your ready to reach out.
You are one hell-of-a-man and there is nothing I wouldn't do for you.

Many blessings to you and yours.
My prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I pray that GOD will rest his peace on you and your family and comfort you in your time of need. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please let us know if there is anything at all that we can do to help.

The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is on me; because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble; he has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening [of the prison] to those who are bound;
to proclaim the year of Yahweh's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; -Isaiah 61:1-2
