Wow. Hardly even feel the need to post anymore, it's so routine. Fred Meyer Bakerview, Bellingham Millwork Supply, Bellingham Grocery Outlet, Cash and Carry, Costcutter Blaine, Chevron in Blaine by Costcutter, Blaine library, Blaine True Value Hardware, Home Depot. Not OCing as much because of the weather so I usually have a coat on.

Lots of topics to address since I haven't been on for so long:

At the Chevron the fellow behind the counter asked what I was carrying, then was wondering how much my Ruger KP345 cost when I told him how much I liked it. Had a nice chat. Said he is thinking about getting a 45.

Sorry to hear about your trip to Canada. I go up a lot as I have family there and am always very careful to remove everything first. Not sure what they'd do to me since I am a dual citizen, they can't ban me from Canada. :) I find the easiest way to make sure my vehicle is sterile is to make sure I never just leave piles of stuff lying around. The gun, the magazines, the ammo, etc are always pretty neatly tucked into something I can grab out easily and will never roll under the seat or end up in the glovebox. Of course the other day I did tuck my Walther into the center console and then forget it was there for a few days. Good thing I never headed north.

I'm not a big fan of the LGOC thing. I understand they have no choice in CA but I don't see the defensive advantage to carrying a long gun. If someone attacks you there is no way that you are going to be able to get it into action and wield it successfully during a close in fight anyway. I suppose maybe a short barreled shotgun but I suspect that isn't what you are thinking. Not saying you shouldn't or can't, just not sure of the value.

Sorry I never make it to the coffee on Sunday. I work six days a week and just don't feel like getting up and driving all the way to Bellingham on my one day for slacking off around the house. Maybe one of these days if work slows down and I have some Saturdays off I'll do all my running around on Sunday instead and see you there.

"Paraphernalia"?!

Did they give you a definition for that? Are empty holsters "paraphernalia"? How about firearms promotional t-shirts, or a firearms related magazine you purchased at the drugstore? Perhaps you should explain that if they are looking for firearms or "paraphernalia", there's a place in Toronto where they can find a lot of it; it's called Para-Ordnance, at M2K 2S5, 1200 Sheppard Ave East. See, that's where Canadians profit from selling "evil handguns" to free Americans.... of course, I don't expect them to appreciate irony...

Defensive advantages are different than with handguns, but they aren't nonexistent. Just pretend it has a bayonet on the end of it, and use it accordingly in close quarters. Even though it's a blunt object rather than a sharp one, it'll still do considerable damage if you aim right. Granted, it's not as handy extremely close in as a pistol, but if you visualize it as a blunt spear rather than a bullet dispenser, it's still useful, just with slightly different tactics and deployment. And if you're that close you might have ended up clubbing someone with a pistol anyway.

Good Cop

Just after our Sunday meet, (thanks for coming Mrs. MSG)
I took my dog for a walk at Cornwall Park.
Crossing the main entrance parkway, dog off leash, (violation)
a Bellingham PD drives right passed me.
Continued with my walk.
Later, near the playground, I see the cop car with flashing lights on
parked close to my truck and a man and his son (who I passed a few times)
talking with the police man.
OK, here we go. Somebody called the cops on me.
Checked to make sure my video camera was on.
I walked passed them to get to my truck. Smiled and nod.
The cop was just showing the young boy all the neat stuff
his car has.
Doesn't even look twice at me. Non issue.
Get in my truck and leave.

The younger guys want to take him to a bar but I think I got them talked into going to Billy's or Bob's for early dinner and a drink. Then if they wanna go out afterward be good. Not sure when I can get some shooting time in maybe Sunday? Hike up behind the house? Here in the valley?

Hey John I know which one is your house now, it has huge gargoyles on the roof.

Turning 21 is a big deal. He doesn't want to rush it and go to crazy. Shooting for awhile and then a few beers is always nice. Hell, that was my Saturday.

Sounds like a fun Saturday.

He's a pretty mellow kid, I don't think he'll rush it. He hasn't been out much since we stole him from California.

We are working that day actually a big day because trusses are coming, always a stressful day. So a dinner for me and the family and whoever else wants to join in, and shooting another day for me.

I would appreciate the advise for him for more experienced gun folks. Like I explain to people I am not a "gun nut" I am a "rights nut".

Really had a good time. Shad says thanks to all for showing. Him and Alex continued to party after, glad there was someone else to take him out. I went home and slept.
