There was an unplanned Whatcom County Chapter Picnic at Hovander Park today.

We just linked, packed a bit of food, got on motorcycles and took off for the Park. Boomboy and his Sweety followed in a support vehicle. Much fun was had by all, no negs from the locals. We all had a good time. Yes.....everyone was armed but the dog.
You need to get something for that dog.

I want to thank MSG Lagaie for allowing me the distinct pleasure of assisting him with his presentation. I had a great time, and came away with more hope than I had when I arrived. We had about 60% pro gun, 30% curious, and an extremely passionate 10% fiercely anti gun.

First, in defense of the lost, they were mostly quiet and respectful during the presentation. For that I am grateful. That changed when we got to the Q&A after the "Politics of the Gun" section.

While I can really empathize with the core of their belief (violent murder is bad), they repeatedly resorted to non-sensical arguments and arguments about the slave owning writers of our Constitution. Honestly, I don't care if it was written by Big Bird, it is the single best guide to a free and peaceful life to which any current government subscribes.

I spoke with the lost after the presentation. What they lack in knowledge and logic they compensate with volume and fervor. It really looks like their strategy is to "squeaky wheel" their way to victory. Knowing this, I am done being quiet. I will be firm, yet respectful, but I will no longer stay quiet. My workplace is about to become a bit more interesting.

Brian the "work" is always a group effort and you and Robert are invaluable to the cause in this area.

Sweet Baboo got Trump tickets.

I went to my local "Free Comic Book Day" event.

We went down to the airport to see Trump come in. He passes us in his motorcade and HIS was the only vehicle with windows down. Red ballcap sticks out in a crowd.

Yes I OC'd the entire time. Got some looks from the local LEOs, the MIBs hid behind tinted glass.

Listening to him here as he speaks in Lynden

Busy week.
Speaking to young ones curious about guns (calling a social justice warrior a racist was priceless)

And outside the Trump rally not being a republican or democrat moved easily between the opposing groups having lots of good conversations with both sides.

Stopped off for the first time at Northside Restaurant and Lounge on Northwest. Wednesday night is $12 steak night with a small 7oz Sirloin, salad, and baked potato. Pretty plain entree, but service was great and the Mud Pie dessert was great. A few second glances, but no comments. I love the fact that it has become so very unremarkable.

Out and about with my Sweet Baboo. Many good comments from Americans and Canadians over the (Canadadian) Holiday weekend.

Lori has been ocing her new Sig because it is so gorram pretty. We were having a conversation with Bjorn, who just happened to be in the same grocery store. Lori saw another woman pointing at her pistol and tugging on her BFs arm. I think she wanted one.

unremarkable..........I guess that is us.

Went to Green Acres Cemetery to help take down the 1500 plus Flags that were flown for the Memorial Services this past weekend. A few positive comments, but mostly just a normal thing for a Washingtonian to do.

31 may 2016 incident

Road rage.

I was travelling west on Lakeway headed to get a new fuel filter for my Sweet Baboos spare motorcycle. I entered a school zone with the yellow light flashing. I slowed to 20 mph, no one behind me. A small white PU came rapidly up from behind and parked his bumper on my rear tire. I was concerned. I maintained my speed (20) and he backed off slightly, giving me a one finger salute, gesticulating and agitated in general. I saw a right turn and signaled. As my brake light came on he changed lanes to the left. I did not turn and attempted to read his LP. He changed lanes to get in front of me. Not an easy task reading it on a motorcycle in traffic, small numbers and a bit of distance. He made a rapid right onto King street and I thought he was going to enter I5. This is where I stop as I did not wish to get myself cornered on the interstate.

I pulled into a bus stop to call 911 and he pulled in the same space slightly ahead of me. He burst from his truck animated and angry arms flailing. Most of his conversation was incoherent. He told me repeatedly that I was not an American and lunged at me over and over. I warned him repeatedly to back off and stand down as I backed up. He lunged at me again and I unsnapped my well holstered 1911. I warned him again as I took another step back.

Now he starts calling me "a big man with a gun" and repeating that I was not an American. The fool lunged at me again and I drew my weapon and barked loudly, "Last chance, back away and stand down". That part was in my best First Sergeant voice and he backed off. He took a few steps back, using a bit of light sailor words and I holstered. He continued to rant as he got back in his truck and sped off onto I5N.

I called 911. A witness came up and volunteered photos of the truck and I thanked her. I explained what happened to dispatch and a unit was sent. Five arrived. Several Sergeants and a few Youngin's were in attendance. I explained the circumstances to the Sergeant, another Sergeant interviewed the witness. I did not know at the time but units were also shooting up I5 looking for my new friend.

Several things happened here. I was believed by the PD. I had a witness I did not know about. I was a "known entity" and had a tad of credibility with the LEOs due to past encounters.

The Youngin's asked the Sgt why I was not disarmed for safety. He informed them that I was not a threat, I was legal and Washington was an OC State. Hmmmm, why have they not already heard that during "Training".

Charges against my New Friend are pending. He attempted to throw several weak punches that I avoided. The young lady who witnessed it told the LEOs she saw him strike me. He will be interviewed by the PD and they will advise.

After arriving home, Lori had already checked the Whatcom scanner and I was listed as "Brandishing". Well, well, well. Seems as though there may be a little bit of a gap in the Bellingham Pee Dees Training program. An investigation will begin.

I am not being charged, he is.

ACTUAL UNICORN SIGHTING

I was in Value Village and saw a young man openly carrying a well holstered handgun. I stopped him, commended him and asked if he knew of us. He did not and felt that OC was a natural Right. What a guy!! He received all the usual invites and his name is Jamie. I hope we see him soon.

Holy smokes! That fella was a special kind of stupid, eh? It is one thing to stomp and scream, but to actually physically attack, or even get close enough to menace, an obviously armed individual while they are asking you to disengage, is just crazy. It is also disheartening to know that the "youngins" were so eager to illegally disarm Sarge "for safety". That is downright depressing. What happened to that training that BPD was supposed to provide to the officers regarding OC?

Well, it seems as though we must "trust but verify" once again. FOIs will be forthcoming. Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks Decklin, started out as a Gunnersmate/Navy Diver and, like you, learned from there.
