She could not stand hearing facts. She said that most firearm related deaths were suicides. Someone pointed out that suicides by firearms was about 24% and that 24% is not most.

She wanted more nonsensical laws passed. She could not understand that making a criminal act more illegal does not stop criminals.

Nothing she said had ANYTHING to do with gun safety or safe storage.

She had no clue how ineffective 594 is and thinks it is doing great things.

She believes that anyone can just, legally, buy guns online and have them shipped to your house. She could not accept that it was not true at all.

Only thing she did was further convince me that all the MDA members are idiots.

Maybe she's lumping BP stuff in as a technicality?

That's the only logic I can see behind her thoughts on this.

Obviously modern stuff can't go directly to a house for an "Average Joe/Jane".

And THIS is why we need big money, we're talking millions, from groups like the NRA for large scale advertising campaigns in WA on billboards, prime time commercials that run often.

"Grass roots" activism won't get far against a well-funded organization that can afford to mass mail fake adverts to every single household in the state and spam every channel with false commercials 24/7.

Well, obviously, it wasn't "obvious" to her. This is what these people hear all the time and they believe it. It is all they know. That person is so ignorant that I am sure she doesn't even know what black powder is, much less that there is a difference between black and smokeless powder weapons. You seem to not grasp that there is no "logic" in her thoughts.

Oh, I grasped that quite well. I just had an issue with the idea that someone that espouses what they claim to be "common sense" could be so clueless on the matter.

I know, they are almost seemingly required to be that way to be included in the ranks, but you must admit it's a bit baffling.

Big money would make it much easier, but by and large we are winning....in spite of the millions poured into the anti's war chest. That must be very frustrating to them. :)

Not to me. These people are committed to an outcome regardless of the facts. They don't care about black power versus smokeless powder, they don't care about what the law says, they don't care what is logical or reasonable. They just want you and I disarmed. They believe that will be the end of "gun violence".
On this we agree.

And We do it as we did last night. All of us must carry the fight to them where ever they are. Mom's coming to your neighborhood? Counter them. You know the drill, Citizenship is a Verb.

Of course! She indicated that it was making some uncomfortable, and thus should be prohibited. Oddly, it was shortly after assuring us that no one wanted to take our guns. VERY dishonest about their intentions; they are having trouble keeping track of their own lies.
All two of them? lol Well gee Wally there are eight of us here, and two are uncomfortable, what should we do? Get rid of the two idiots beav!

#2 what was this nice lady's position in the scheme of things?

#1 I, as an electronic member of "Moms Against Everything", was texted by the presenter and requested to attend. I asked if I could bring a few of my rowdy friends, and she was tickled pink. I showed with five Armed Citizens and a well educated minor who is waiting for her 21st birthday to open carry for the first time. Two other people showed. One of them disagreed with most of what she had to say. The other did a Monty Python and ran away as soon as it was over.

#2 She had a standard "Moms"/bloomberg script that she literally read from. She became uncomfortable if she was forced to deviate from the script with minor things like "questions" or "facts". In the end, she just wants more laws so everyone can "feel safer" and who does not want that.

No, they do not know me. Fun,eh?

The moms just had a meet like yours, in Kentucky, this week,, oddly similar to this.

Its not a long thread, the good stuff starts at post 33,,, or you can read the whole thing..

This was good. Another demonstration of Citizenship being a Verb.

The Moms against everything had two people show up, we showed with eight. A small, but vocal crowd, we forged ahead. The speaker had a bit of difficulty with her script , but did well. More tomorrow, after some sleep.

KUDOS to Freedom1man for the two hour drive, And NAVYLTCDR and Niche' for he long drive too

Hello from KY! Our chapter had a meeting in Lexington at a library as well. They were discussing the SMART (gun storage and scarriness when children are involved) program. We did not get the invite but went anyway since it was a public place.

Similar results to you. They had only 3 members and 3 organizers show up, with an additional 2 3rd party speakers. There were 3 of us, open carrying. Read the posts of the what happened. Enjoy .

Same thing here. It's like those call center folks, can't deviate from the script.

Out and about with Herself. We went out on the bikes to pick up my "delays" I always get a delay when I purchase a firearm so I plan for it. A couple of different shops for a couple of different handguns. A nice little Smith 39-2 and a .38 derringer. Fun guns, time for a little range fire, Eh?

There was an unplanned Whatcom County Chapter Picnic at Hovander Park today.

We just linked, packed a bit of food, got on motorcycles and took off for the Park. Boomboy and his Sweety followed in a support vehicle. Much fun was had by all, no negs from the locals. We all had a good time. Yes.....everyone was armed but the dog.
