Been out and about, no worries.

Went to a mini Trump rally Thursday afternoon. Spent two hours on a bridge crossing I5 waving at people and holding a Trump sign. It is amazing how many people will give support from the privacy of their vehicle. A great deal similar to the Brexit. Bookies had them staying for sure.

Sweet Baboo concealed and I open carried, as usual. No worries and a lot of support for 2A Rights from the other Trump supporters. Go figure.

We were looking for an excuse to ride, any excuse. SVG, and his Sweety, My Sweet Baboo and I got on motorcycles and headed down the chuka nut. Stopped at Value Village 'cause women have to shop. Rob, Lori and I were all open carrying. We milled around for an hour or so before leaving. Once we were outside, I heard about the reactions of those in the store. Lori and I have been there many times but this one was different.

Several people, apparently Canadians, complained that we were armed. Lori was near them and overheard most of the conversation. They went to management and asked them to tell us to leave. Dilemma. The young lady who was in charge politely informed them of Washingtons open carry situation and that we were legally armed. The simple fact was, she was armed with Washington OCDO brochures already, keeping her well informed.

Update on road rage incident

Road rage.

I was travelling west on Lakeway headed to get a new fuel filter for my Sweet Baboos spare motorcycle. I entered a school zone with the yellow light flashing. I slowed to 20 mph, no one behind me. A small white PU came rapidly up from behind and parked his bumper on my rear tire. I was concerned. I maintained my speed (20) and he backed off slightly, giving me a one finger salute, gesticulating and agitated in general. I saw a right turn and signaled. As my brake light came on he changed lanes to the left. I did not turn and attempted to read his LP. He changed lanes to get in front of me. Not an easy task reading it on a motorcycle in traffic, small numbers and a bit of distance. He made a rapid right onto King street and I thought he was going to enter I5. This is where I stop as I did not wish to get myself cornered on the interstate..

This starts on post# 1429

I finally received the police report on the road rage incident. The rager, of course accused me of being the aggressor. The witnesses discounted that version. The witnesses reported that he struck me, repeatedly, in the head. He did not. I explained to the LEOs that I moved my head a bit, rather than be struck.
He was charged with disorderly conduct.

Upon review of the incident, I am glad that I train the way I fight. I ride my motorcycle a great deal and always wear gloves. When at the range I draw and shoot with those gloves as to not have any surprises. In this incident, my new friend jumped out of his vehicle while I was actually on my bike. The entire action took place while I was wearing a helmet, heavy sunglasses, and leather gloves. Function was flawless and I did not realize the rest until I reviewed it. Cool.
Bottom line is this.......Train for it. Think about your daily parade and how you do it. Be careful out there People.

"Hey, do we come up to Canada and demand you stop eating back-bacon and playing hockey, eh?"

There was a very similar event here in Louisville, Ky. a few months ago. The big difference was that the event escalated with one participant attacking the other with a baseball bat. The attacked man defended himself by shooting and killing the other. He was charged with murder and his trial just ended in a "Not Guilty" verdict. Thanks to your cool head, neither you nor your attacker had to go through anything like that. Here is a link to the news story after the acquittal:

Here in WA State this verdict would result in the "State" having to pick up the defendant's legal bills. ALL of them. Prosecutors now don't just "Charge 'em and let the Court figure it out".

So, your prosecutors have a 100% conviction rate? That's very impressive. I don't think this case was a matter of "Charge 'em and let the Court figure it out". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They thought they had a good case, the jury disagreed.

No, they don't have a 100% conviction rate. With this law in place they make sure they have a DAMN GOOD CASE before charging. Cases here often take many months of investigation before arrest and charging if there's ANY chance that Self Defense may be possible.

There have been several cases lately where the shooter claimed Self Defense and intensive investigation has proven otherwise. In other States individuals are charged by politically motivated prosecutors even though it was pretty clear from the beginning that no Jury would convict on the evidence.

Of course we all know that Prosecutors are never swayed by public opinion, right. Especially those in Baltimore, Sanford County Florida, etc, etc. Regardless of what we all may think of the defendants in cases like these, Prosecutors are ALWAYS swayed by public opinion. Then the taxpayers get to foot the bill for trials that probably wouldn't have occurred if the Prosecutors weren't worried about being re-elected.

My exact statement was

I am speaking to WA State Law on the WA STATE page. Unlike others who drop in from other State pages and get all butt-hurt when people make a comment they don't like or understand, I just stick to the law where I live----WA State.

Again, my comment was merely about what DOESN'T happen HERE now that we have a State Pays Costs law when one is acquitted due to Self Defense.

The specifics of the case you stated have no bearing on what I pointed out.

I was out and about again. Stopped at an office max. A gentleman came around a corner and was taken aback by my firearm. He asked "why do you carry a gun?" I replied, "Are you Canadian?" he said "No American", so I replied, "I am old, I am disabled, and I refuse to be a victim. I am my own first responder." He said "good luck with that and walked away.

He said "good luck with that and walked away.

That is exactly why I carry.

That WA law sounds like a very good idea. I'll suggest it to TX Sen Huffines when I go to one of his office open houses.

A new "Gun Free Zone"

Well, it finally happened. After years of OC'ing with no issues I was asked to leave a business because I was carrying a gun.

Went down to the Pickford Cinema last night to see a movie, bought tickets and was seated in the lobby while my friend had a bite to eat before the show.
An employee came up and told me they had a new no guns rule and that it was posted on the door, although I didn't see it when we entered.

I told them I had already bought 2 tickets and would need a refund, which they gave me. As I left I looked for the sign, which is on the bottom of the door about
a foot up, where it is not really seen as you come in.

So, instead of a movie at the Pickford we went out to Barkley and saw Independence Day. Not as good as the first one but it was OK.

I think that we should all go on different nights and get kicked out. A bunch of OC'rs at one time is a demonstration. Several nights in a row of turning away paying customers might make a more impactful statement. It is for dang sure the Pickford needs every ticket it can sell.

Sorry for that experience, Aradcom. Incidentally, did you open carry at the Barkley theatre?
