Last event organized by Michigander:

http://forums.opencarry.org/forums/...-Oppression-Sunday-January-27th-Coolidge-Road

"Evil and I have decided that with not even 10 confirmed attendees, we will likely cancel this event if it can't be confirmed that at least 15 people will be going, because having just a few people is close to meaningless in terms of showing that we're anything more than a few nutjobs who like guns. ***It is disappointing, to say the least, that at this desperate hour for gun rights, less than 10 people in this region are even willing and available to walk a few miles to garner attention for the cause.***

Unless I am way off base, and a bunch more people confirm they are going, evil creamsicle will be changing the opening post to a notice of cancellation tomorrow. If it does get cancelled, we may or may not end up having a different meet up at a starbucks or coney or something if anyone would be interested in that."

...I wasn't trying to provoke you when you accused me of trolling. But if you don't plan to commit to this event, regardless of the turnout -- do the "cause" a favor and don't do anything at all.

I'm not trolling the thread. You seem gun-ho to go to **** somewhere -- I'm just showing you another opportunity to do so.

Go ahead, set a new date/thread. When only 3 ppl say they will come you can cancel it and get all butthurt like you did with your Woodward march. Michigan Open Carry has a lot of resources to promote event such as this one, better than simply posting it on OCDO. if we're not moving fast enough for you, do your thing.

I can tell you this, when we put it in motion, we won't cancel ours if it looks like only 3 ppl will attend and we definitely won't whine over it.

If you can look past the abrasive way he said it, you might notice that he wasn't saying you shouldn't plan this event, or even that you weren't moving fast enough, but only that since nobody has posted any information about the state of things, there was no way for him or anyone to know whether or not you were actually even working on it. A simple "hey still working on the details" or even a PM would be fine, but without that, the people originally trying to plan the event have no way of knowing if they still should be or not.

You guys throw around words like 'impress' and 'butthurt', without realizing that that is hardly the point.

So please, gentlemen, can we put the penises away and get our brains out? If you're actually working on this, great, but throw us a bone here so we don't have to sit here wondering what the hell is going on. This isn't about control, its just about making sure the event actually happens. Excluding people who want to help hardly seems productive.

Here's an update: our SE regional coordinator is driving around this very moment to plan a route. He's also researching if any permits will be needed. He's squiring supplies needed to make sign stencils.

He's open to suggestions about route, venue, time, date, after/before meal location, or anything. You can reach him at seregion@miopencarry.org

If you can look past the abrasive way he said it,

Well, that's the problem, isn't it? His abrasive attitude. I'm a reasonably nice guy. I really am until someone starts throwing shards. Tom Lambert is an even better guy. If you can't get along with Tom, well, you should take a hard look in the mirror.

Updated due to more posts

People's attitudes clash sometimes, their personalities may not be compatible, such as you and Michigander... that is clear.

We have a common goal here though. And Tom is a nice guy. From what I could tell he and Tom got along just fine in Grand Rapids.

Forgive me guys, but I am not in the mood to PC up my opinions in the face of being asked to cancel an event that could have gone fine as a preliminary event, in order to go to an event that didn't need my presence on the other side of the state (though it was fun), only to then have it taken over by Pat, which is not so much of a problem with me personally as long as it gets done, but these actions do speak to the attitudes of you guys that are setting this up, and I find it troubling. If I come off abrasive, if you aren't a mean person, I mean it in no personal way. Tom I don't have a problem with on any personal level. Phil, well I appreciate much of the work you've done and you don't have the worst attitude and I do appreciate that about you and I enjoy talking to you, but the fact remains, as ever since the first time I met you, I am readily willing to work with you on things, but you have never earned nor shown an interest in wanting to earn any significant level of trust from me.

In this case, the fact Pat took over setting up the event is of no surprise, nor is it a surprise that subsequently details were kept from open view here, since he was banned from here and it seems pretty certain he must hate this forum and want to take charge elsewhere to prove the inferiority of this forum. Plus it's little stretch to say he didn't want me to know. I could go into details I've seen with him about how various aspects of this are typical and why, but what for? No sense in posting dirt that is already known by many of us.

Like I said, and as evil reiterated, I don't care who sets up this or any other event. Just make sure it happens, and well. And for future reference, if you want my trust and help in good faith, make sure to be straight with me in real time, and I'll continue to be straight with you and offer help.

Citing the failure of an event you didn't lift a finger to assist despite having ample opportunity, in order to take a jab at me in a thread about an event your organization decided to take over and exclude me from, it is pretty damned petty.

Some level of cooperation would be nice.

My sentiments exactly.

Would you please quit your paranoid delusions of some secret plot against you? Here is another update. We need a permit, the process takes about 2 weeks. The permit has to be approved for the specific date. Once the permit is approved we will release the date, not before hand. This is just in case the permit is denied and we have to reapply. There, feel better now? SMDH!

Once yet again - this is not about any one person. Please guys - you want to have a whizzing match fine, but let's do it via PMs.

This thread started with good intentions, is rapidly revolving into chaos. We are often our own worst enemies. So let's stop all the back stabbing, pooping on each other and start working together. I say if it takes two months to do it right so be it. It will be warmer and a nice road trip north sounds fun. ;)

On the permit issue - this usually pops up when people are carrying signs. No matter it is an illegal ordinance ( , but rather than get a court case going), just leave the signs at home this time around. Address the violation of the 1A @ another time. They may say it is to march in general which is also a problem for them, as they would have to prove that each person was part of a coordinated effort. Not so easy but knowing them they'd spend tens of thousands trying. Maybe a silent "walk" with individuals is in order, giving each about a 50 foot spacing from one another. There is always a way to work around unlawful ordinances. ;) I don't answer police questions of a investigative nature. So it would be nearly impossible for them to prove who knows who if no one says anything other than wash, rinse, repeat. :D

50 to 100 people walking down streets in Romulus while OCing should get the message across loud & clear: OC is legal in Romulus MI, along with the rest of the state.

well said, +1. Perhaps we can avoid the personal attacks and make this a very good event, that is my hope. I PMd EZ and suggested mid May to avoid being near the @A March on April 29th. Some people need to plan ahead for these events to make sure there is money for gas food etc. having two events one of which is on the other side of the state takes planning on my part.

Had a good talk with Michigander tonight. We talked about and resolved many "issues". All is good I think.

A permit to walk down the damn sidewalk???? Outrageous!!! Not ONLY is that a violation of the Constitution, but also a glaring restriction on human rights! And what do we do WHEN the City Council denies the permit???
