Huh? The majority of this thread has been figuring out how to do an event. The only dirty laundry brought up is Pat, and I believe that is in keeping with the rules of the forum, because there is no doubt in my mind at all that his past participation here, as well as current actions with MOC, has significantly hurt the cause of openly carrying handguns, and I believe it's important to make that clear when it comes up.

Pat is still active. Had he been kicked out of MOC too, or tried to make amends and make a real effort to not be such a flaming troll that would be one thing, but as it stands he is not simply a matter of the past.

And I am not trying to interfere with your efforts, quite the opposite, I am questioning shadow bear's desire to delete this thread, which I started for our shared interest in taking on Romulus police abuse, and I want to keep it here for that.

Edited to add: I would not suggest an event to close to the 2nd A event in Lansing. That event should be the main focus of gun lovers in the state.

Depends what you are doing. In incidents such as the one evil cited, we had numbers small enough for things to really boil over. Had we gone with 80 people, things would have gone much differently because they would have lacked the man power to screw with us. But that was for the best. Getting a group of 80 with that level of experience would be pretty much impossible anyway. Small group incidents such as that one are excellent for gathering video evidence against criminal cops, and it is indeed only well experienced people who should "try to stir up the hornets nest", since diving head first into your first felony stop on purpose isn't a good idea, and is a terrible idea if it's part of an action meant to accomplish some specific goal, since there is really no way to be ready other than experience. Big groups are great for publicity and safety in numbers, small groups are better for sending a message of defiance towards oath violating cops while also recording their criminal actions if any occur and also have the benefit of very rapid mobility.

Big and small OC events always have and always will both have their place, just for different reasons.

Have you considered tackling DTW and their ordinance? The police chief (Chief Glam) of DTW has personally told me he will enforce the ordinance, despite CADL v MOC.

I'm always up for this sort of thing, and I don't know how much more clear I can make it that I am eager to help MOC. However, my advice to Q is that planning a stunt directed at some extremely problematic government agency operating outside of their legal capacity as a stated rule is NEVER do you want to do that on an open forum. PM's, phone calls, emails, face to face exchanges, sure. You don't want to give them any extra warning unless they want to use the pesky NSA or something. And even then, asking for volunteers to come to a location where information will be handed out on the actions to be taken at a location 5 or 10 miles from there if they still want to help, that is also an option to avoid any prior government knowledge.

If on the other hand you think you can get a really really large group, go for it. I'll be there. But please, start another thread on it.

Another in a long line of unfunny jokes from Phil? Doesn't really matter to me either way, it's not the topic of the thread, and if he is serious he needs to take it elsewhere. We need this event to go down, and whether it be an official MOC take over, a good old fashion OCDO coordinated event, or a combination thereof, perhaps in the form of a *******/control contest from various self important members of MOC such as has happened in the past, I don't give a rats ass, so long as it gets done. You guys have your chance, if you want to make it happen, please do. It's been two weeks since I posted this thread, and I have heard exactly nothing substantial from anyone, other than asking me to cancel.

Look, it is being worked on. I will type it again slower so maybe you understand i t i s b e i n g w o r k e d o n. Now you can either be patient and wait,probably the end of the week, or do your own thing. Last I checked though the last event you tried to organize had 2 or 3 people committed to going. Hell I have better turnouts at dinners in Monroe. So do what you want. I offered to work with you, that does not mean I will acquiesce to your "demands" or "deadlines". Not sure what your problem is, and personally I don't care. Just a bit of FYI, the person that was detained is working with me on this and he seems to like the idea of MOC doing something. So I ask you this. Is all this bovine excrement with you because you care about the incident or are you just trying to flex your "muscles" to impress someone? Do what you need to.

Go ahead, set a new date/thread. When only 3 ppl say they will come you can cancel it and get all butthurt like you did with your Woodward march. Michigan Open Carry has a lot of resources to promote event such as this one, better than simply posting it on OCDO. if we're not moving fast enough for you, do your thing.

I can tell you this, when we put it in motion, we won't cancel ours if it looks like only 3 ppl will attend and we definitely won't whine over it.
