I was kind of hoping to have something not so close to the big event in Lansing. Is there a reason that late March early April would not work? Any thoughts from others?

A few. There are other events scheduled already in SE Michigan over the next month or so, we want adequate time to try and ensure some coverage, Easter kills one weekend, and a few others.

At least it wont be on the 1st where no one would take us seriously. lol Also, I do want to second the point about Rom cops being more crooked than a DC based liberal lobbyist. Deff. need to be careful with this one.

Wouldn't 'bee' the first time we've buzzed straight into the hornets nest. FreeInAZ and Michigander can probably remember one event in particular.

Keep your wits about you and we should be fine. Though numbers, while not required, should definitely be helpful.

Been there, done that brother! :D. I have noticed that badged criminals are far better behaved when the numbers aren't heavily stacked in their favor. ;)

So numbers are always a good thing when dealing with a known criminal department such a Romulus.

Depends what you are doing. In incidents such as the one evil cited, we had numbers small enough for things to really boil over. Had we gone with 80 people, things would have gone much differently because they would have lacked the man power to screw with us. But that was for the best. Getting a group of 80 with that level of experience would be pretty much impossible anyway. Small group incidents such as that one are excellent for gathering video evidence against criminal cops, and it is indeed only well experienced people who should "try to stir up the hornets nest", since diving head first into your first felony stop on purpose isn't a good idea, and is a terrible idea if it's part of an action meant to accomplish some specific goal, since there is really no way to be ready other than experience. Big groups are great for publicity and safety in numbers, small groups are better for sending a message of defiance towards oath violating cops while also recording their criminal actions if any occur and also have the benefit of very rapid mobility.

Big and small OC events always have and always will both have their place, just for different reasons.

Ezerharden,

Any progress made with ebaby?

Anything you need assistance with getting this planned?

Yes have been in email contact with him. Looking into if we need any permits or not from the city just so we stay legal and don't give them any reason to harass us.

If you stay on the sidewalk and obey all traffic signals, then you won't need a permit. That is what we did in GR. I figured it would be best to not waist my time and money trying to get a permit out of GR.

The PD is near Olive and Bibbins, and City Hall is near Wayne and Goddard. Certainly well within walking distance of each other, about a mile. How close it is to the spot where the gentleman in question was arrested is something I'm not sure of. I dont know where that exactly took place.

PD on the Left, CH on the right

I could see starting at City Hall, and doing a loop down Wayne to Bibbins, west to Olive and up past the PD to Goddard and back to CH. That gives us a good amount of parking. lol

Well it's roughly 10 blocks going E. to W. down Goddard (which is connected to hunt st downtown) from City Hall to Historical park, then to the PD.

Addresses as follows:

City Hall 11111 Wayne Rd (near intersection of Goddard Rd).

Court appears to be next door at 11131 Wayne Rd.

Historical Park 11120 Hunt st.

PD is at 11165 Olive st.

- you can map it using Google/map quest etc... to get exact walking distances...it looks very doable in fair weather.

I think Deschaines plan is sound! +1

PS - if the wonder bread outlet store is still on Goddard east of Wayne rd. You guys can score some sweets at a great price. :p

This does sound like a good idea. As Tom pointed out we would not need permits to walk down the sidewalk following all applicable laws and such. From what I understand about where the incident happened is that it would not be conducive to a march, I could be wrong.

And couldn't we park at the City Hall or PD?

Let me know when it's all sorted out so I can delete this train wreck.

Thanks for the words of support.

Maybe folks should just send PMs for the final adjustments? Once they are chosen then post them and the date. Hopefully the thread stays in place until after the event happens? Don't want certain shadowy mods getting all twisted in the knickers now, do we?
