You are correct for those without a CCW, however: http://www.gunlaws.com/Gun_Free_School_Zones_Act.pdf

Subparagraph B of the GFSZ act:

(B) Subparagraph (A) does not apply to the
possession of a firearm—
(i) on private property not part of school grounds;
(ii) if the individual possessing the firearm is licensed to
do so by the State in which the school zone is located

or a political subdivision of the State, and the law of
the State or political subdivision requires that, before
an individual obtains such a license, the law enforcement
authorities of the State or political
subdivision verify that the individual is qualified
under law to receive the license;

One more good reason to get your CCW.

Although I am in 100% agreement with those who feel a "permit" to exercise a constitutional right is pure BS, it is a fact of life (at the present time). There are municipalities in St. Louis that require a CCW to OC. Why a person is required to have a licence to carry a concealed weapon in order to carry a fully exposed weapon makes absolutely no sense.....but that is just the way it is until we get full pre-emption passed.

(mogunlaws.com). it shall be unlawfull for any individual to possess a firearm,at a place he knows,or has reasonable cause to believe,is a school zone,this does not pretain to persons with a ccw with permission from school officialls.sorry dont know how to copy and paste it to the site.

ok. all good points. yes i was referring to the federal law, which might be outdated, but as other posts have shown it is a very murky area. so i agree with gunman that moving to the krug pool area might be safer, just my opinion, im willing to hear more clarification on the legality of having it in bartlett park. I'm hyped so lets keep this going any input is appreciated

Lost during platform change?

What happened did we lose all the interested folks when they switched the forums to vBulletin? If so we need to get those lost souls redirected to the new URL. If they are that technoligically advanced. LOL. :)

Surely more of the others will wake up in the next day or so and respond lol..Seems we had more people that said they were coming before we switched to krug park, I still think we will have quite a few there. Looking forward to it.

Well im gonna have to take that to mean that it is authorized by law due to the fact that ordinances in this town are rarely ever updated with changes in the law. There is still one on the books that I can't recall at the moment but it was from the depression era and is not enforced now and dont even apply in this day and age, but it is technically still a law. Therefore we have kinda figured out to ignore antiquated laws around here lol. The meeting shall hopefully still go on as scheduled

Guess until I hear a definite "no" we can't do that, we'll be there around noon Sat.
