First experience with a leo. Not so very pleasant.

Well handled. For me ANY LEO encounter sucks. You can call this a great one. You politely told them to go piss off.
Hopefully it was witnessed by several sheeple so they can say "wow cops just let the guy with a gun just walk away, hell they didn't even get his ID".
What is the world coming too?

Now get and use a recorder.

I am new to open carry, and have never had any issues. I can say the following places seem open carry friendly, since I've done so frequently without problems:

-food lion @ riverwood
-Chinese take out place @ riverwood
-fastmed urgent care, highway 70 in Clayton

Has anyone had any negative experiences in and around the Clayton area?

I have open carried for a number of years in clayton, and surrounding area (smithfield, raleigh, cary, chapel hill, and durham).
In Clayton the only place that is posted is the FOOD TOWN grocery store downtown.
The owners are nice guys;but not locals.

Put in a good word for Open Carry on WRDU this morning. They were talking about the SC sheriff who was advocating that more people get concealed carry permits. Figured I would call in and agree with the sheriff that more people should be carrying but also point out that, while not an option in SC, OC is an option in NC. To be on topic, I had my pistol on my hip.

I think I heard you. I noticed Caseys voice get kinda trembly. I often wonder what his true beliefs are.

I have been past it before so I thought it was somewhere near there but I am pretty sure I can find it. Already RSVP'ed for me and my fiancee and daughter on meetup.

I hope to join the triangle group for a meet as a guest from Charlotte soon. I'm headed in that direction Saturday, but unfortunatly the NC State vs Carolina game I'm going to see is at 12:30. We're (NC State) going to get our butts handed to us. Oh well, one can still hope. Have fun!

Opened carryed in the NoDa district and had coffee with some friends and my lovely girlfriend. Not one incident but a few questions. felt good answering them all. I had one person asked me somthing and it went like this.

Dude: I see your packing. Is that legal?

Me: Yep, it sure is with a few restrictions of course. (Listed the prohibited areas.)

Dude: I feel uncomfortable being around guns. You just never know who they are and how safe they may be.

Me: I completely understand. However, there are many people including myself who are responsiable gun owners. We all had to go through background checks to process a weapon. I also go to the range every weekend and I served 3 years in the US Army with gun safety drilled in me.

Dude: Yah, talking to you I can tell you are responsible.

Me: Anytime you have questions come and see me. :)

I left him a Opencarry.org brochure.
