Opened carryed at the Wal-Mart on Albermarle rd. Same location I had the Leo encounter last time. Postive feedback and smiling faces! No problems non so ever and I am glad I could explain the laws to a older gentleman who said he CC because he was afraid of OC problems with the the public or Leos. Had a very good conversation and provided him a flyer for this website!

OC and proud to do so daily. :)

Went to Walmart on Raeford Rd. with a friend and these two young guys dressed like thugs were walking behind us saying is he a cop he cant have a gun. While his friend was laughing and then the guy kept going by saying he going to call a manager so they can kick me out of the store. Note he not saying any of these things directly to me just loud enough to try and provoke a response. Then he walked up to an employee and said he wanted me out of the store now. I just ignored the kid it seemed to piss him off even more and as all this was happening a guy ocing a .38 walked pass lol.

Proudgunowner: Was that WM on Raeford Rd (Fayetteville) or Fayetteville Rd (Raeford)? Either one, good on you for ignoring the idiots. I've never had a problem here in Fayetteville. I have had several conversations at the WM about carrying.

It was the one on Raeford rd.

I have open carried there numerous times with no problem. Did start a conversation with a fella that was OCing a LCP. It seems his wife had been pistol whipped and robbed over at Sams Club parking lot so he now goes with her shopping and he is armed.

sounds like you paid admission to enter so you were not allowed to carry in there, glad it wasn't too bad, could have been worse. Or is this a gray area because you only paid admission for your kids . . .

Redfive, I feel like an idiot now. The 'pay admission' part somehow slipped my mind. It's mostly a non issue for me because I almost never go anywhere like that. I guess it really could have been worse. I apologize if my previous post broke forum rules.

It did not break forum rules - just proves that one can never be too careful though. :uhoh:

I so totally dislike the "paid admission" test. It is nothing but a further culling of the herd.

Ate at Golden Corral today with my wife and daughter - I'm still full - I always eat too much there! The manager was at the cash register. While I was getting my soda, my wife noticed him checking out my XD and was then waiting for him to say something. When I got up to the register, he asked if it was a .40 or a .45. Told him .45 and he commented that he has the same pistol. Talked for a couple of minutes, I paid for us to feed at the troughs and went ahead with our meal. Got a few double takes from the patrons but nothing else. It was nice to start out the visit there with a positive nod from the manager.

Had to return a movie to my neighborhood redbox machine which is in a rather precarious location.

Wife was wigging out about me returning it at night not far away from previous robberies.

So I put on the old paddle holster and dropped in the 9mm, problem solved.

As the movie was going into the machine, up pulls some homeys. I felt pretty secure about the situation. Thought it was funny how they didn't get out of the car even after I had drove off. I suppose they were waiting on someone else?

Grapeshot, it's good to know that I won't get banned on my first post. LOL. Yeah, the paid admission thing sucks.

On thread topic, though, I've carried in the blockbuster on Santa Fe Dr., the BP just across the street, Best Buy, Wal-Mart on Skibo Rd., and many other places and haven't been hassled.

We try to be self-moderating here, though there are those that will step in if required.

Appreciate your being her and hope that you benefit, continue to contribute and enjoy.

To start, this happened the other day. I am really starting to HATE the no-carry law in restaurants that serve alcohol for consumption. There should be some sort of signage or something that says they sell alcohol as I went into a restaurant the other day that I was sure didn't sell alcohol while OC'ing. It was a chinese restaurant and some of them are so hard to talk to that I didn't ask at first. It wasn't on the menu. The several times that I had been in there to eat, not once did I see it on anyones table until this last time when I saw a fella drinking a beer. I looked at my wife and said "Oh Sh*t". She turned and looked and immediately knew what I was talking about as she knows I try my best to follow the law while OCing. When I asked our server, she said she could get me the wine and beer menu if I was interested. So if I do decide to go back, I will know not to carry but there should still be something to let someone know. Luckily, none of the staff thought twice about it and had no problems with it.

That's why in some states, it is a law to have their ABC permits posted near the front door. Very helpful for OC'ers. There are some places that you wouldn't expect to serve alcohol, but it turns out that they have a selection of two or three beers stored in a mini fridge. I wish we could get rid of that law...

Had a good experience this past weekend, I had been to this guys shop before and gotten some AK mags from him. It is called force recon military surplus near crossroads in wake forest. I had seen the guy open carrying there and decided this would be a good time to get a mag holder and maybe do some shopping while ocing. Most gun shops around here are not big on you carrying in there stores. Anyway go in guy is named daniel, just as friendly and knowledgeable as always and he is ocing his glock 19 me my glock 17, and I ask him about the mag holders and he just points and says "for that gun, I say yes sir" and he shows one to me, a nice od green canvas triple holder which may seem a little overkill but I have gotten quite use to it. All in all I think I found a new shop to pick up my accesories from now on, great guy and good conversations.

I will try and direct him to the site next time I did not get a chance to ask him if he OC's outside of his shop. Now I have a reason to go back. If anyone is over in that area of wake forest stop in and take a look you will be hard pressed to not find something you want to buy.

I apologize for the off topic. But, this is why the champagne for HB111 is still going. please contact your area representatives and let them know how we feel. GRNC also, has cards to send that has a good message on it, and they will even mail it for you. goto http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/ to find your reps.

Went to Taco Bell on Concord Pkwy in Concord today. I've carried in there a few times before, but today I got a Lot of attention. I first walked in, and placed my order, and the lady taking the order was the manager. She asked "Are you in the military?" And I told her not anymore. And that sparked a short little conversation. Another girl behind the counter came up and she was like "So how do you feel being able to carry just about anywhere you want?" and I told her it was a great feeling to have those rights in NC. The first lady I was talking to hadn't even noticed I was carrying, but proceeded to tell me she had a .38 in her purse. I started talking to them both of guns and the laws "most of which they already knew", and had 5 other employees come up at separate times, asking if it was a glock. "Which it is lol". None of them had any issue with me carrying at all. And the manager then told me "If somebody comes here and tries to rob the place, I can't carry my own pistol on the job, so nobody here would be ungrateful for you stepping in if it seemed like our lives are in danger". Then she told the employees "Alright, leave the poor guy alone now" lol.

After eating, I got up and was throwing away my trash and a guy came in with what I'm guessing was his gf. He took a look at my gun and got a surprised look on his face and said "Woah, he's got a gun" Just as I was about to say something, the manager stepped in. She said "Yes he does, and we welcome him in here with it. So if you have a problem with that, you can eat elsewhere." At which point the girl he was with started laughing because he was just standing there with a shocked look on his face. I told them all to have a good day and headed on out to Walmart, where I don't think I got as much as a second look. But to be honest, carrying has become so second nature to me, that I don't even really notice that it's there anymore, and don't pay attention to anybody acting like an idiot if they aren't doing it in my face.

All in all, a pretty good day for OC :)

OC'd without incident yesterday

I took advantage off the warm weather on my first day of vacation yesterday and wore shorts and a t-shirt. I had to go to Wal-Mart in Apex and OC'd my Colt Defender compact 1911 in my Serpa. Not a word was said and no dirty looks.

Later, I picked up a pizza at Michaelangelos at the corner of Lake Pine and 64 with the same result.

I had my Android voice recorder app going just in case but happily deleted what turned out to be a boring recording when I got home :)
