It was good to meet some new- and see some familiar faces yesterday! I'd say that the picnic was a success and I appreciated the good coverage from Fox News and the appearance on site of Channel 3 and the Gazette! Already had some feedback via facebook that we must all be crazy---I just acknowledged that his freedom of speech was another constitutional right!

I enjoyed chatting with all of you today (I was the newcomer with the sissy fannypack--with my trusted "friend" inside...as I didn't have a standard, external holster for OC).

As one who has been exercising his 2nd Amendment rights with CCW, I look forward to also learning more about OC. Tony

Very good! Well done Josh and Rob.

The one thing I didn't like was at the beginning behind the desk anchor they had a graphic of a CRIME SCENE WT Fudge is that trying to convey. I guess the media just has to get there little bias out there.

I am not sure they were projecting bias so much as they had to have a geeky graphic up there and that was all they had:lol: We should get them a MOC INC coat of arms for the next time!

Well if they were projecting bias at least that was it... The interviews were not all cut up and they didn't make us out to be wackos:celebrate
No, perhapsyou misunderstand me. I was referring only to the graphic they used, in my opinion it was bad, and projected a negative image. The rest of it was very good.

"I don't identify myself as a Democrat or a Republican," Tishhouse said. "I consider myself a constitutionalist. "If you want to know the truth, I voted for Obama."

What the!?

Hmm, that's strange for being a right wing, pro 2A, state-ist.

Given the choices...

I know a lot of people here will be disappointed in that fact, but what can I say?

I think the oil war going on in Iraq needs to stop, and at the same time, we need to drill for local oil, since we know we have so much.

I think that banning federal funding for stem cell research is wrong, but I also believe using "waste" fetuses for the purpose is wrong, too.

I think that gays should be allowed to marry. I don't believe the writers of the constitution would want the gov't involving themselves in ANY kind of marriage.

There are two sides to every issue. Unfortunately, neither candidate matches up exactly with the sides that I care about most. We really need to get rid of this two-party nonsense and get some candidates in there that are truly representative of the American populace.

People came from as far as Detroit?

How far is Detroit?

My wife and I came down from Bear Lake (near T.C.). We drove 186 miles one way.

My drive was 119 miles (Ann Arbor) each way.

However, I do believe you guys were the furthest distance.

Okay, so pretty close to the same distance though. I am still very unfamiliar with MI geography. I am originally from GA.

I'm not belly aching. We obviously came because we believe in the cause and support what this organization is doing. We had a good time and though we felt a little out of place (not knowing any of the locations folks were talking about, etc.) we enjoyed the day out of town.

I would like to be much more involved with MOC and am planning to have some picnics in Manistee county, so it was good to see what an event was like before trying to put one on myself.

Etiquette usually dictates that you start a new thread for a new topic. It's called derailing a thread when you talk about off topic subject matter in a thread.

Besides, if you start a new thread, then people will now better what it's about and you'll be able to attract those interested. Some people may not necessarily view this thread, and miss your invitation.

You can PM me the addy.
