I didn't know whether to be insulted that I was mistaken for a cop, or mortified that I look old enough to be mistaken for a "detective." :)
Why am I visualizing Abe Vigoda all of a sudden?

Oh, Gawd!

Because you have an overactive imagination? :)

Do me a favor. Next time your imagination runs amok, relay it by PM. Tomahawk can take a comment like that and play off it all week.

(Groan) I'm never gonna hear the end of this.

OC'd at Fashion Square this evening. No problems whatsoever. Bought some pants at JCPenny's, visited Walden's Bookstore and Radio Shack for set of headphones. Had a short but pleasant talk with one of the employees there who said he knew what I was doing was perfectly legal but asked if I had ever been hassled. To be honest, he was the first person to talk to me about my sidearm since I started carrying three weeks back. So I told him that. He apparently has a CHP but I don't know how often he carries or if he deos at all. So a good day for Open Carry.

Hello, I just got registered. Count me in for an OC dinner.

Is the Boathouse expensive? I shot my whole wad on a reloading set up and many other related things that I will not mention here, but will in person.

I have lived here for 10 years and OC with regularity.

Rarely does anyone (indicate) that they notice. I think so many people have things on their belts like cell phones and stuff that it goes unnoticed.

75% of the time someone comments it is neutral or positive. Most often they ask, "are you a cop?" The other 25% is, "why are you carrying a gun," or "who are you going to shoot?"

The ignorant typically are more vocal, just like the criminals like to wear uniforms (baggy clothes, doo rags). Similar to bright colored poisonous animals, I think this is Jebus' way of helping us ID them for our benefit!

I have decided that I will, in the future, have fun with them and ask them in a raised voice, "do you need assistance?" Any other answer is not fun, and they don't know how to react to the truth in any event.

Woodbrooke Sports- Everyone says their prices are high, but I vehemently disagree. I got a Ruger LCR there for $425recently, (retail $525 and neigh impossible to find) and a good deal on a Kel-Tec P-32 among other things.

Their FFL transfer fee is high at $42, but I know that it is to survive the internet based economy while they are brick and mortar.

Polite - no, definitely not a strong suit. Vicky is very nice, and she is not alone. One dude in there has the personality of moist socks and is actually a Dumbocrap !?! Maybe he is smarter than anyone, though. The only successfulstimulus that Obongo hasbeen responsible for has been in the firearms industry. Somehow I think this is just serendpity, but he has much better job securitah mit Herr Umbama.

The RRPC is not a "range" but a club. You must join the NRA and there are several requirements. None are significant, the dues are only $100/yr. and the club is both really well outfitted, and typically nearly abandoned. It is like a private range most every day!

The C-Ville area has quite a lot to offer, and I live out of the county, which affords me all the luxuries, and less of the negatives.

E.G. - CCW permits are $15 in Greene Cty, and $50 in CHO.

I don't pay to support their liberal tax structure, except for the meals tax @ nearly 10%.

For the most part, their wrongheaded and hotheaded political theatrics are nothing more than mere amusement for me. The modern libtard chooses to be angry 24/7 and hates no one more than himself. I don't get in their self-destructive way, and I don't let them bother me.

I moved here and found a sexy as hell wife at the local Victoria's Secret, and helped free her mind with conservatism. I got in early in this once red hot and still decent local housing market. I may be moving for work, but I have few regrets about coming mhea.

I would go, but being a "dumbocrap" that voted for "obongo", I don't suppose I'd fit in too well. You got us libruls pegged pretty good.

I consider myself a liberal. The Constitution and our rights need to be understood, practiced, and protectedby all regardless of party affiliation, race, gender, gender preference, religion, or whatever.

Come on over.

The ribs are excellent, at half price I bet they're even better!

As stated... All are welcome, not sure where that political rant came from, this certainly isn't the place for it.

Can't wait guys, 3 days!

That was hardly a "political rant." My post was massive, and one subject was parsed out, so the "I'm offended" flag could be thrown. Typical for teh internets, as well as modern society in general. Re-read my post, and tell me honestly that the purpose was a rant, and not information. Additionally, it was all pure opinion, which you may reject at your pleasure.

How one thinks you can discuss a "right" which is codified in "laws" and attempt to leave politics out of bounds is really beyond logic. That said, while rare, there are people that believe in freedom in every flavor of political belief.

Can we not at be honest about the dominant environment that exists in CHO? That is what this post was about:the prevailing attitudes of CHO in regards to open carry.

Don't get all hypersensitive whenyou observe someone exercising theirfree speechor you are like those who panic, stare, and call "the man" when they see you exercising your right to bear arms.Be consistant.

If it makes you feel more at ease to sit down and have a meal with armed conservatives like myself, I'll tell you that I invited an extreme liberal to rent a room from me in my house. Worked out fine. In fact, he asked much about firearms, asked to go to range and I ended up giving him a CCW course and certificate.
