+1 .. this country is turning into a fascist state ... look at all the members here that say "Hooray in asking for your 'permission slip'!"

Im with you on this one Dave. People in this country are becoming very lacking in intestinal fortitude.

Now days the American "patriot" motto is basically "Get violated, ask questions and sue later"


There is no reason to be rude or smart ass to the ignorance that is the American public, but bottom line is, the OP was not breaking any laws and also he is not legally obligated to PROVE he is not breaking any laws.

We dont want to have a bad reputation but we also need to set examples for the American standard.

And the American standard should never be submission to tyranny.

And we DEFINITELY shouldnt be giving the American public the notion that demanding personal documentation at random is something to be considered normal....

And this is the point that the OP is missing, IMO.

And there was no reason to be rude about the request; a simple "No Thank You" would have sufficed. You might have missed a breakfast, whoopie.
