I believe Mr.Zimmerman if he choices to do so, would have an excellent civil case against the state prosecutors, the AG etc for "Malicious Prosecution".
The state attorney's office clearly had no case, however prosecutors decided to willful prosecute an innocent law abiding citizen,The state attorney's office caved in from pressure from civil rights groups and even the president himself when he declared, " If I had a Son, he would of looked like Trevon Martin" so the office of the president also played a part in this case, a case that simply could never reach to the criminal level the prosecutors were attempting to reach, Hence I feel this is a clear case of " Malicious Prosecution".
When Mr.Zimmerman gets his head clear and starts to recollect his life, I hope he sits down with some sharp civil law attorney's and considers filing a " Malicious Prosecution " complaint against the prosecutors who tried to deprive him of life, liberty and property. Prosecutors that knew fair well that they had no hard evidence to get a conviction on 2nd degree murder, prosecutors that were rolling the dice and hoping for a manslaughter conviction. Prosecutors that will even in defeat, go on to be successful with writing books and charging fees to give lectures at law schools and maybe even a movie deal. While Mr.Zimmerman and his family will most likely need to disappear into seclusion and hire security for there protection and possibly could be sued by Mr.Martins parents in a civil litigation. All this because prosecutors caved in to civil rights groups and media outlets and politicians to move forward with a weak case that had no legal chance for a conviction. Bring this weak case is clearly a perfect example of " Malicious Prosecution".
