Here is a question. What are the rest of you non-Missourians always doing on our side of the board arguing opinions?

The event in discussion happened in Portland.

I personally do not care where they are from, I consider all opinions valid or at least as valid as my own.

I have learned a ton from a lot of different people though I can not speak to where they are from.

I kind of like the way some other states handle OC, if we do not get feedback from folks in those states we will not discover how they achieved those goals or even in states with laws I do not like, how they failed so we do not have the same thing happen here.

I consider it a HUGE positive thing myself.

There is no "our side of the board" - no fences, no restrictions.

Indeed the sharing of perspectives is part of what makes this forum so effective.

Lol, thats right, we're uppity in our little piece of the American mid-west. The rest of you go back and squabble in general discussion. Unless you're all hiding from eye95, in which case I understand.

Despite ant opinions to the contrary, I would like to invite one and all to participate in the conversations within the missouri forums. We need as much support as possible from all positions and persons. IMHO it is very wise to gather as much information as possible on a subject so when one tries to represent such an opinion to guest to invite here or garner support for the causes we seek to change, that voice can have at least collective input as a knowledge base before it is expressed in a manner that might otherwise be flawed.

IMHO there was no argument on this thread, what appeared to be dynamically different positions after the discussions are found to be not quite so different and are influenced by different histories and backgrounds. As a college professor I can assure you this leads to improved understanding not only of the opposing view but at times even your own.

I did a 2.5 hour lecture last evening and made 4 mistakes on a subject that I am indeed an authority on, I caught them and was able to correct them. In the past I have had student catch them as well and one thing I have had great feed back on is my wiliness to acknowledge those mistakes instead of “trying to bullshirt my way out of them” which is the experience they have had with other instructors.

This “argument” as you refer to it has lent itself to progress. While I can not speak for marshaul I will any way and state that I think that he sees my position differently than he did from the beginning and while he does not agree with it, he understands why it was developed and does not consider it totally unreasonable as he may have from the beginning. I also will certainly acknowledge that because of my own history and knowledge base I gave no consideration to how others thoughts might be developed based upon a significantly different regulating history and I can understand how his opinion of my opinion was strong and opposing.

None of that is dependent on his or my location and I found it to be good conversation and would invite anyone from anywhere to join in on it and I have no understanding of why anyone would want to quash such conversations from occurring, that simply makes no sense and seems extremely narrow minded.

Whoa buddy, back down off the serious. Some of us were only playing. Take it down a notch Scott.
I'm willing to gamble you aren't much fun to drink with.

-ps. I saw a wall of text and didn't read 80% of it.

Names not Scott.

Hard to discriminate between "playing" and regular stupidity on my end.

In case it was supposed to have meaning, I do not concern myself with what you choose to read.

As far as drinking with others goes, I am not a huge fan of it at all. Too many folks are "just fine" well before they understand they are stupid and I do not try and surround myself with stupid folks. Opinions vary.

Nope, still not reading it, you seem way too serious all the time. You need to chill, this is what drive people away from the board and the movement. Forum grumps. Pull the thorn out of your foot, or should I say stick *** ** **** ***.
Grow up and learn how to relax. Lets bring some community back to this movement, people like you need to readjust your attitudes.

Also, I see you used stupid a lot. I would say I was insulted if I didn't feel as if I was being barked at by a grade schooler.

Cannot find any reason to continue this thread.

It is dramatically OT and approaching a flame fest.
