So the police were called so they say, park employee, and I was told I am in the clear. The employee found my info to be helpful to him. Plus I did send off an email to the city attorney as well. No police showed up. Good carry and incedent.

Bonney Lake Lowes, never have an issue. After that went to Subway and started to head home. Stopped at a few garage sells along the way and bought some good stuff on sweet deals. Some kids asked if my gun was real. One of the kids asked his friend why did I have a gun and he said for protection. I just smiled at him and said "Bingo". Told them to stay safe and have fun. Picked up a near new US Military MOLLE II Rifleman Backpack set for $25 cash. Also bought some more camping stuff and a few things for the house. Had a great day. At another stop I talked to a guy who owns a XD .45. He told me about a range that just opened up in Federal Way. Might have to go check it out.

Yesterday was the Utah Safety Course for CC. It was a good class. I OCed. Only three other people in the class and they did not carry CC or OC. Talked to the instuctors wife before the course started. Talked about CC and OC, different holsters for women and shooting on the move (also covered in the class). Instructor asked if I had a Glock 23, I said no, its a 21. He carries a 22 and 23 on and off duty. Sent off for my Utah CFP, so someday I will get that in the mail. With that Utah laws and stuff, I thought for a quick moment on maybe moving, but not going to happen. Anyway had fun, good course.

Had a bit of a difeernt encounter saturday.

first off i had to hit les shwabb here in yelm for some new tires, OC the entire time without a word said. then i had to stop in to the quizonos which i frequent to get some subs, couple of the patrons there saw me OC and one asked about my taurus mag(he was confirming it was a hi-cap and not "falling out"), we had a breif chat about carry since one of the guys had just got his CPL. i gave him a pamplet and hopefully he will visit the site.

so a positive day all around.

Friday evening, Fred Meyer, Lowes & Bed Bath & Beyond in Issaquah.

In BB&B, had an employee ask the wife and I if we needed any help. When we said we were OK, he looked down at the gun, then went on about his business. When we went to check out, the girl there looked at it, smiled, and said she had not seen anyone else carry in the area. Turns out she and her husband were new to the state, and she knew OC was legal, but I was the first she actual saw doing it here. ( I need to start carrying our OC brochures)

Today in the self-checkout in the Walmart in Covington another shopper asked what I was carrying. He was cc'ing a glock.

More good encounters.

Long gone
Well, not detained... but contact was made.

Took my son to Seatac for his flight back to NYC. We preprinted his boarding pass so all we had to do was get in the security line which turned out to be several miles long today. While watching him go thru the line, some TSA officers kept me under watch, then pointed me out to a plainclothes person with a earpiece. After about 35 mins a Port Police officer made contact with me.

My phone was on my belt so audio did not work to repost (will remember that for next time). The conversation went like this;
OF- I know Open Carry is legal BUT...
Me- I am waiting for my son right there in the green shirt, as soon as he is thru the check point I will be on my way.
OF- Well, could you just put it in your car for now
me- No, as soon as he is thru I will be leaving. Unless you will walk him thru security and to his gate?
Of- No sir, I can't do that... be aware that a supervisor will make contact.

After a bit a female officer walked right in front of me (personal space close) to join the other officer(1st pic). About 15 mins later, 2 more officers showed up(2nd pic). No more contact was made with the officers except for me giving the a hand salute on my way out.

Ok so I am done working on a car at my shop on Lakeview dr in lakewood. it's right by the railroad tracks, anyway it's not the greatest nieghborhood and everyone in lakewood knows the area between 108th and 111th is not the best area. I zip down Lakeview to turn onto 111th to head up to the bridgeport 7-11 for a drink. and I drive past a girl that is all of 18, Naked with just a kitchen hand towel around her bottom with one hand holding it and one arm covering her self. face down, maybe crying... I just thought only in Lakewood then a second later I realized maybe she was attacked, amazing how it takes your brain a second to process. I turned around to find her and couldn't find a trace I am guessing she made it to whatever house she was heading to. I hope she was alright. A lakewood policeman I found in the parking lot next to 7-11 told me if she went in a house and I didn't know which one he couldn't go door to door especially if I wasn't sure there was an attack.

It's amazing the stuff that goes on in Lakewood. Anyway I made it to 7-11 and the guy at the register said "nice gun. I had a guy in here a few weeks ago and I told him not to go crazy and shoot anyone and he got mad at me and said shooting people is nothing to joke about." I said that was me and it's still not funny. The older lady behind me said to him as I was leaving. "I have a gun, should I shoot people?" too funny

Whenever I see somebody wearing a fanny pack I just assume they are armed. Same with the guys wearing the "shoot me first vest". Especially when it is sagging on one side because they are using the built in cc pocket in the chest.

Exactly. What is even more amusing is the amount of guys wearing the SMFV into the gun store.

I did see a couple of SMFV downtown Seattle on Saturday, while I was OC. It is amusing that they think they are pulling off something... I think less people notice me than notice them....

I've been OCing all over the place in the Spanaway/South Hill area. All is well with no issues.

If I choose to carry off-body it's in a backpack. It's legit with three young kids in tow. Also, it gives me props for being a good daddy. :)

I was at Winco in Kent last night and while my wife was bagging groceries, I was waiting to pay. The next guy in line was about five feet from me and saw my little Kahr on my hip. He looked at me and with a big smile and a thumbs-up, said "Open carry is legal."

Well, I'm glad he told me that it's legal... since I was doing it. I had a few pamphlets on me and went to give him one but he said he'd already read one and didn't need another one. I asked him if he'd seen this website and he said he hadn't.

Lacey Walmart, I know big woop after a million non-event trips there. I go in, and a lady about twenty feet away loudly exclaims: "Is that a real gun?" I smiled, and said yes it is. I thought I was about to have my first negative encounter, but I ended up having a short pleasant conversation with her total approval that more responsible citizens should carry. (she can't: bi-polar) She asked if I had/needed a CPL, I said yes but not needed for OC in WA.

bipolar is not a disqualification in and of itself. however, if the person was involuntarily committed for psycheatric reasons, that is disqualifying but you can get around it.

It's been a little while since I posted where I've been lately.
Over the past week I have had a number of positive encounters.
The first was at Albertsons on A street in Auburn. I walked into the store and the security guard stopped me saying, "Excuse me, sir."
I stopped and was thinking, Oh, great. Here we go. I was prepared to go over the laws and the fact that I've been OC'ing in that store for two years.
Instead he starts asking about why I OC, when you need a CPL, how to get a CPL, what it looks like, how long it's good for, good shops to purchase at (I mentioned Champion)
and a skew of other questions. We spoke for probably 10 minutes.

The next day I was at work at the Bonney Lake Home Depot when I spotted an OC'er by the service counter. I walked over to him and said, "Excuse me, sir."
I held out my hand, he shook it and I thanked him for OC'ing. He seemed surprised. I asked if he was on OCDO and he said no.
He had walked by one of my coworkers who has stated a number of times that OC scares people. I had told him tht in general people walk right by without noticing.
So I said to him, "Hey, did you see the guy with the big scary gun?"
He goes, "Where?" And begins spinning around in place trying to locate him.
I say, "That's what I've been talking about! Nobody noticed or cared. You completely missed it!"
He had never even seen someone OC but was against it. When the guy was leaving I had to drag my coworker over to see him. He just kind of looked at the guy and said, "Huh. You're right. Nobody even sees it."
Since then his attitude about guns has started to change.

After work I was at the Bonney Lake Walmart to get something for dinner. As I was paying a woman walked up to me and said, "Sir? Could I ask you a question?"
I said, "Of course, Ma'am."
She says, "How do you get a permit to carry?"
I told her, "You don't need one to OC but I think you can go to Bonney Lake PD to apply. You should be able to find the info online pretty easily."
She says, "Oh. We looked online last night and it looked like we had to go all the way to Tacoma."
I said, "That's where I got mine but I was living there at the time."
I told her some sites to check out and then we parted ways.

Lots of positive encounters. I love OC.
Since Aurora I have noticed way more people stopping me to ask about getting a gun.

I had a great day today. Not much happened. Oc all day and no word said. Take the family out to eat at red robin in auburn. My other half took the kids to the bathroom and I sat down. Within 2min of sitting down a manager came over to tell me he had some complaints of my firearm and asked if I would either cover up or place in my car. I told him no on both parts and explained to him corp policy is to follow wa law. Then said I needed a permit to carry. So I showed him wagunrights.com on my iPhone and that shut him up. So when my wifey to be came back I told her about my encounter. To my supprise it was the same guy giving her a look up and down when she came out of the bathroom. I wasn't mad about it at all. Well when our appetisers came out he brought them and gave me a stern look and smiled at her. When the bill came the waiter had told me that the manager comped our appetiser for what ever reason. I was blown away. Maybe it was her good looks.

Sorry so long. But great time.
