Police - it is also now a
punishable offense. Personally, I think if anybody is accused of racism, the ITP should arrest any and all authority figures ever involved in that person's life - parents, relatives, teachers, clergy, etc.
Lock 'em all up! Why? Because there is no innate dislike of the unlike. We are not
born disliking anyone or anything. Rather, we develop our dislikes over time through our own experiences, or the (often informal and unknowing) teachings of those we consider to be "authority figures". Comments inadvertantly overheard, opinions of others expressed during casual conversation, rants heard on radio or television - or from the pulpit, suggestive behavior in movies or video games, and on and on. These all have the potential to mold a young,impressionable mind. They will have
some influence, but the
degree of influence depends on several variables. The more widespread the attitude within the community, or the more often the attitude is displayed within a childs particular social circle, the stronger the influence it will have in creating
legacy racists. When it comes to racism, we are not born with it - racism is not a
natural attitude, it is the product of
nurture. But, that's just my thoughts. Pax...
