very glad to hear you got off. I would have liked to have gone to the trial. I have gone to watch others.

I would like to apologize for those in the community that had negative things to say about you and the incident.

Congrats on your victory.

Bottom line is that the laws of this state forced him to handle his firearm while in public in order to drive home. This kind of thing is all but an inevitibility.

The smart thing to do would be to treat the interior of a car as an extension of your home, as most states do - allowing you to store a loaded firearm in it as you would a desk in your home office, or on your person as you would on your own private property.

I agree with Zig on this point!

Congratulations on your victory.

If you could provide case information for me to look up, that would be swell. I need cite material.

The wikipedia entry for "Open Carry" needs to be changed.

I already had to remove "HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE FLED AFTER THE FIREARM WAS DISCHARGED" a while ago. :cuss::banghead:

No i didnt pull the trigger. I am MUCH smarter than that.
So it was the fault of the gun. Did you send the gun back for repair? What did the factory say was wrong with it?
since he didnt get in trouble for it,obviously people didnt put the fault on him.

Thanks captain oblivious.

But with all due respect, I was asking him questions, not you.

I thought in this country you were innocent until proven guilty, that is my point, alot of you had me convicted right off the bat. I figured a group like this would have been supportive not passing judgement, Some of you acted like i did this on purpose to wreck your names well you were wrong, I sent the gun back to springfield and they replaced all the safety componants and returned the gun, but by then 5 cops had played with this gun so they had tampered with evidence, But i would still like to thank you ( the ones who believed) and let the system work, The only reason they wanted to prosecute me is because I was with the group and they wanted to make a point and the anti gun people ran with it because they don't want people running around with guns, If anyone would have been there they would have seen the political games they were trying to play which would have been bad on all , could have pled guilty and payed a 100 dollar fine or fight it in court at about 4000 dollars, the point is it was a win for all gun owners, If they have a record on file of me pleading guilty that would have been a slap in your faces, I fought this because i didnt do anything wrong, and me not calling 911 was not against the law because there was no damage to any personal property or to any other person, And for the record I think about this every day, and what I could have done differant, Good luck on all your demonstrations but i will not be attending, I dont want to be a thorn in your side and i hope this never happens to any of you thanks

much better post than the one you posted when you first bumped this, had you not bumped it on the offensive I think the thread would have went a different way.

however, I would really like to know what actually happened that day, instead of everyones assumptions, since the case is now over, would you be willing to tell us how the gun fired?

there are also lots of people in the open carry movement we would be better off without, many of them post here, I'm not saying you're one of them, however, I am saying don't take it personally what is said here, some people don't even carry.

You are right, people need to stop stressing about this.

No one was injured, the gun was fired in a safe direction. You weren't wildly slinging it around like the Paul Helmke would like us to believe.

But please, wear something that constitutes as a shirt the next time you come to a picnic. :p

choover and kyleplusitunes > Bigdaddy had every right to be pissed and vent it. If I were in his shoes, I'd be here typing the same things. There were some pretty bogus statements made about him and this incident, and I'd be just as pissed. Having the accident happen would be troubling enough, but then to be criticized, demeaned, outcasted, etc. by those who I thought would support me... he's got every right to vent. After being found not guilty by 12 peers, I'd be right here offering the same "screw yous" to those folks.

True, the incident was a "black eye" for us, but accidents happen to everyone at some point in time. Congrats on the "not guilty" bigdaddy, and sorry it came at a cost.
