Well, actually it's not just you. I agree completely, and not just about drinking a beer. Buying, owning, and carrying a firearm should not be restricted either.

exactly right. its just another step to the governments progressive agenda to obliterate the rights we have as US citizens in order to be "like the rest of the world."

According the exceptions, can't a person carry a firearm unloaded on their person open or concealed without a permit? So, couldn't an 18 year old carry an unloaded firearm on him and keep his mags separate until he turns 21?

Well, joejoejoe and dizzle2, that is an excellent question. Can someone "California Carry" at any age? Now, begin your research. Report back, and let us know what you find... with references. Homework, don't you love it?!

so far this is what i found.
-A minor may not possess a handgun except with written permission or under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
-A minor under 16 may not possess a handgun, unless they are accompanied by their parent or guardian while participating in a legal recreation activity involving firearms or has written permission to participate in such activities.
what exactly is this written permission thing about? and we're in WA, is it the same law?

Look guys, I used to be a teacher. The information is available. I used to make my students look up answers to questions all the time, because it benefited them more to do so than to just have me give them the answer. Besides, this is Sunday night, homework night. I like both of you. That's why I'm giving you this assignment.

Now, who will come up with the correct answer first?

well in this day and age, it sometimes benefits people to just patronize them and give them an answer. things are easy to find out but if u know the answer why not just share the knowledge.

There are several reasons not just giving one the answer to ones questions.
One being when you are faced with a tasked and no one around to tell you what to do, do you wait to be told or do you seek out the information and get the job done.

When asked how you came about this information, what do you say, so and so told me and if they were wrong, what do you say? If you seek out the information you will be able to cite the authority to support your actions.

And doing you own research will lead to a better understanding of many more questions you will have in the future when it comes to self defense.

this is true. but not all the time is it best to search for yourself. in that case why do we need schools and teachers. just tell kids to do their research at home when they need to know something. oh wait....isn't that how the school system works now. isn't that why US schools rank 26th or 27th academically in the world yet we rank 1st in confidence. lol

Schools and Teachers are there to guide you and help you along the way, not to do the work for you.:lol::lol: and when it comes down to it, who are they really grading the Teachers or the Students and their work, Students I say.

Enough of this garbage Go DO Your Home Work! :D

okok. its so easy to go off topic on here.lol. but i looked and Navy's gun pamphlet and all i found was that if an 18 year old has an unloaded pistol in his car then it is illegal to leave it unattended unless it is locked and hidden out of sight........?

Are we talking about WA or CA?!?!?!

thats what i said! lol. I found this but it makes no sense:
RCW 9.41.240
Possession of pistol by person from eighteen to twenty-one.

Unless an exception under RCW 9.41.042, 9.41.050, or 9.41.060 applies, a person at least eighteen years of age, but less than twenty-one years of age, may possess a pistol only:

(1) In the person's place of abode;

(2) At the person's fixed place of business; or

(3) On real property under his or her control.
