Yes, Kevin Schmadeka of the Freedom Restoration Project and I are working on revising some laws in WA, to extend concealed carry to 18 but not yet OC, as some of the members here and outside don't like the idea of an 18 year old carrying openly without a permit/license..

I have wrote up a guide about "18-20 carry" but am slacking and haven't published it quite yet.

Before you jump into what and how you can carry, take some time to browse the different sections of this forum and read. Just read, almost every question you can ask has been covered.

I joined this forum long before I owned my own handgun and now when I use RCW 9.41.060 to my advantage, I am very confident in being armed and blending in with everyone else.

And a tip for using the search function...USE VERY BROAD GENERAL TERMS. Preferably one word, and just scroll through the results. These forum searches aren't as powerful as google.

With consent of the commander on the installation.

If you are aware of any who have consented, I'd love to hear it as it would be rare.

Any U.S Army Base in the U.S. to include Germany, and Air Force as well.
I served from 73-80 and no issues when I was at that young age, buy it on post drink it ion post from beer, wine to liquor.

unfortunately once again you are wrong Dave.

Having been in the military as both a dependent and Active Duty I can tell you that there is currently NO post/base/field/station/anything else where commanders allow anyone under the age of 21 to drink.

Just because it was ok when you were in back in the post vietnam era when pot was legal in the service does not mean that everything is still the same and that you still know everything.

Believe it or not, everything has changed and you are now just an old timer trying to live the good old days. Sucks to hear but it is the truth. Not trying to be a dick, just letting you know.

Junior if you read my reply it is dealing with the time frame I spent in the U.S. Army and no pot was ever legal in the Military even though many used it. There was random drug testing and likely still so to help identify those who need to be treated like children.

If they are not allowing now, good.

When I was in :D we went to on base topless bars and drank away at 18, oh those are the days :banana::monkey

Where I was stationed it was best that the women kept their tops on.

my 19 year old bro in the navy says that his CO gave him permission to drink on base. also when in countries like england, Australia, south Korea, he gets to as well.

Well, some of us remember when there were WACs as well, but that's a whole other story.

DoD caved in to MADD and other groups. I don't understand the concept of an 18 year old being mature enough to put on a uniform, fight, kill and die for his country, but can't drink a beer at the club. Seems a bizarre set of morals some people have.

But, that's just me.

How about in the States where the legal drinking age is 18 or has that change also

As of January 1, 2007, 14 states and the District of Columbia ban underage consumption outright, 19 states do not specifically ban underage consumption, and an additional 17 states have family member and/or location exceptions to their underage consumption laws.

Last word

I am currently in the army, and up to about 3 years ago you could be over 18 on Fort Bliss (El Paso, TX) and you could drink on base. This was to try and keep the kids from going to Mexico. That has all changed, if you are in the Army you have to be 21 to drink no matter where you are stationed to include Korea and Germany.

You took my answer right out of my keyboard! lol I was stationed at 32nd street Nav Sta San Diego from 72-76. The gals off base were fantastic California 10's! On base (gasp/gag) For the most part, we wanted them to keep their shirts on! lol

Well, actually it's not just you. I agree completely, and not just about drinking a beer. Buying, owning, and carrying a firearm should not be restricted either.
