send us a copy of the how to make one. since we have missed out on the log:uhoh:
Will do. It's hand written so what I'll do is type it out in word format and just post it, for those who want one. The nice thing about this recipe is use can adjust it for any kind of fruit you want to use. The blueberry one is my second favorite. Two scoops of french vanilla ice cream, a bowl and a spoon..... ooooohhh

Sounds like a good time was had by everybody... OK, maybe the PD laison was nervous or wishing he was elsewhere. I see these meetings pop up and, because I get my kids every other week, have been unable to attend. I hate the idea of people having fun without me ;-)

If anyone wants to meet-up sometime for shooting at West Walker, PM me. Times are getting busier with the academic year about to start again, but I can make time!!

being a warren resident i would like to call and complain about yesterdays over excessive police presance at the picinic. im just wondering who i call. do i call the police station, city hall, or whom? also i can be a very blunt person, and i know that blunt can very easly be considered rude (though i dont mean to come off as rude). i know that rude will not get me any where in this matter, could some one point me in the "polite" direction on how i should word my conserns. the police could have been doing real crime work instead of sitting around watching a picinic, and swarming a lawfull citizen walking down the street with his dog. thanks if any one can help!

First off, I don't think I approach it in the mind frame of a complaint. As you say, keep it stated as your/our concerns. Even though I'm as upset as everyone else; I would still "kill them with kindness". First off, I would contact the chief. You probably won't get access to anyone higher in authority with this subject. I would also thank the chief for his support for our gathering. I know it's BS, and so will he, but it puts the conversation on a low key acceptance of what happened. Relate to him that he has now seen first hand what DOESN'T happen and should not be so concerned when he hears of another outing. In regards to the "drive by pottie", while talking to the chief, I think I would initiate the conversation like this:

You: By the way chief, our group was more than a little concerned with your officer driving up through the grass near the restroom. There were children in the immidiate area and he should have had more concern for the children in the area than making his presence know to us. We already knew he was there and driving through the grass near anyone was a poor decision for this officer to make giving the number of people who witnessed him doing it. Although you are more than welcome to attend any of our picnics, your officer's need not be in the immidiate area to be ready to respond to what DOESN'T HAPPEN.

Chief: (response - IMO) yada, yada, yada, bs,bs; well, you guys should take this into account when you plan these things.

I would direct it to the Mayor, as he is the chiefs boss, cc the chief. Explain that you wondered how much the PD spent on policing a cookout, and any other concerns you may have had. If you want you can PM me the letter and I would be happy to review it for you.

Daewoo, as Venator has hinted towards, I'd suggest a letter rather than a call. A call will be forgotten about not long after the phones are hung up. Letters sent to police or city people have this tendency to cause action.

I went out to pick up my sunday Macomb Daily at the corner of VanDyke and Martin and to pick up the OC picnic sign there, and the picnic was front page news again. The headline reads " Picnickers pack heat ", " Gun enthusiasts meet peacefully at Warren park to prove point ". In thearticle it said Comm. Dwyer stopped by. Ive seen him on channel 5 Warren tv sat evenings and I did'nt notice anyone looking like him there. I would have liked to ask him if he actualy read thecertified letter I sent him. As for any more OC events, around here or anywhere as far as I'm concerned I'M IN! I need more public exposure for a good cause and I need to work on my sun tan so I can handle more time in the good ol outdoors. I have'nt been out much in a long time but I sure enjoyed the people I met. They're all good people! I was talking about gun free spots with someone ( but due to the name forgetting disease I suffer from ) LOL, I found it! It was in my wallet! 750.234d found on page 98 of the MI firearm laws book, 2.(d) statesa person who possesses a firearm on the premises of an entity described in subsection (1) if that possession is with the permission of the owner or an agent of the owner of that entity. It was a question of possession of a gun in those places. Good day to all!

I forgot to say that the Macomb Daily article on thursday is posted on the MCRGO site!

Mr. Gooden: Welcome and yes there will be more picnics before summer is over. I believe the next outing is the charity event at the East Flint Lion's Club, Sat., Sept. 13th. Hope you can make and be glad to see you there.

Just had to throw a stone. I didn't get to pick on you much at the picnic, you staying so busy and all. You did a great job putting this one together. Hope to see you in Flint.

It is the "plan" to attend Flint. Gonna try and get a carpool going, so we can fill the joint with happy, smiling, OC'ers.
