Speaking of pro 2A t-shirts, I was thinking how cool it would be if someone with the means started printing up and handing out shirts to the Antis that said "UNARMED". Ya know, show your support and all.

OCd to cycle gear on decatur next to opportunity village to exchange a jacket. I am solidly impressed with this store. Great gear at phenominal prices. I got a riding jacket for like 60% off. They have similar deals on last years SHOEI helmets. I am at the dmv on the northside on decatur right now trying to get plates for my new bike :D

While I didn't like the segment The Daily Show did about OCDO, that moving away makes me think of the only part I found funny in their video (FF to 3:58). Guy moves away like an inch, reporter calls him on it: "Really? You're going to move away from me?"

Didn't you know, you're supposed to be tolerant of gays, other races and whatever alternative lifestyle you see unless it happens to have something to do with guns.. in real life...because tv and movies are jam packed with guns. They parody open carry mirroring it with gays and blacks (black reporter) and actually end up making themselves out to be the hypocrites. Typical.

Open carried again to Chase Bank, Albertsons, a clinic over by Mountain View Hospital, Starbux & Fresh & Easy - uneventful. And to BabyStacks pancake house for the first time. All in the NW of Vegas and all uneventful. Sorry Jon Stewart, but around these parts we have a pretty good share of folks that don't get scared when they see freedom! You liberal *-****.

...one couple moved to a table farther away from me at in and out burger once they realized I had my sidearm.

One has to wonder if they realize that guns are ranged devices? :banghead:

More than likely, they were Anti, knew you weren't a threat and just took a cheap jab at your stance. Then went home and talked **** about how they "owned that *******" and proceeded with high-fives.

Stewert IS a liberal but, ****, that video was funny as hell!

Interestingly is the bit of sarcasm being truth (ala 'Truth in Sarcasm'): It seems as Gay acceptance grows, Gun acceptance lessens...

See no correlation & do not see gun/self-defense acceptance lessening - quite to the contrary.

Contrary? Nay. Case in point: make fun of a "***" and you'll be will out a job or shunned -- make fun of a "Gun nut" and you get laughs.

To me, that is very telling to the state of affairs in America as well as, seemingly, globally.

*edit*

Case in point: only one of the pejoratives I quoted above were censored.

lol/sigh

Hardly see the banned words list or water cooler jokes as a standard for judgement in the field of RKBA.

More states than ever are embracing open carry. Our rights and privileges have been expanded on virtually all fronts. Have we completed the journey - not hardly, but paraphrasing John Pierce, "Some see the glass as half empty. I see it as filling."

Kind of ironic. The whole reason I started posting to this forum was because I felt that the folks here were more tolerant and open minded.

I have to agree. The word "a" plus the word "hole" with no other letters added was censored. Really? For a site that is dedicated to Constitutional freedoms, they seem to be pretty prudish. Just goes to add validity to my point that it is "power" that all seek and everything else is simply window dressing.

Enjoy fellas. I'm out.

Regarding banned words and editing - this is not a good ol'boys club house, hunting lodge, or Sat. night card game where language on any level is acceptable - OCDO is not a free speech, anything goes zone. We are a widely read public forum and I don't see taking the highroad when expressing oneself as particularly difficult.

Why make a big deal over a simple edit? No infraction points were given - no harsh criticism offered. That would be reserved for blatent, over the top transgressions. Sincerely think that most here are very capable of expressing themselves (even on passionate issues) in a manner that would neither be offensive to their pastor or grandmother.....or teach our children that polite discourse is unnecessary.

My grandpa used to say that cursing only meant one's vocabulary was limited. I think that habit and the desire to be expressive has much to do with it too though. So pick up the ball and run with it - just don't be an *** **** or **** **** when you do it :)

While it isn't lost on me that an internet forum, ala "someone else's house, therefore their rules", isn't subject to the [supposed] Governmental Constitutional guarantee of Freedom:

For a site that is dedicated to Constitutional freedoms, they seem to be pretty prudish.

^This is where I always kinda shake my head. It's as if various forums, people and ideologies cherry pick the FREEDOMS that best suit them and their agenda.

Now look, I get it! Advocates for gun rights want those that represent them to be portrayed in the best possible light. The problem with this idea is that, simply put -- It's taking out the HUMAN factor of gun owners; some of us swear, some of us have unpopular opinions and/or don't LOOK like responsible gun owners, etc., al.

And this is a problem.

By trying to take the high road, one is suggesting that to fail such an arbitrary litmus test disqualifies you from being part of us [Or perhaps, making a splinter faction of the "less desirable" elements of our core beliefs? But shhhhhh! No talking about them. ;)]

While writing this, it occurs to me that: What if I wasn't a clean cut, well spoken, outwardly friendly, white guy [who gets all the ladies. oh yeah!] that OCs? Well, to me, and yes again, I get it... it would raise quite a bit of hackles to those unaware that: being an a hole isn't inherently a crime and neither is gun ownership.

In conclusion, I'll reiterate that it has come to the point where we, as gun RIGHTS advocates, are simply pandering , AS IF WE ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG! To those that should know better (civics classes? anyone?), whist CIVIL rights are being drilled into the head of every impressionable child in kindergarten through college. Civil rights are great, but so are constitutional rights. And yet people seem to know more about 'tolerance' and 'not offending' more than they know about... being a free person.

PS:
I don't, in fact, get ALL the ladies. Plz don't tell! Shhhh!

Gentlemen & ladies - OCDO has one primary function: to protect and advance the acceptance of openly carried, holstered handguns as we go about our normal routine in our every day lives. There are a few connected side issues, but nothing so wide as some suggest. OCDO is not a broad spectrum, civil rights platform, so yes by that virtue we "cherry pick" which natural right is the focus of this forum.

There is an introduction to the Forum Rules that sets the tone:
If you do not agree with any of these Rules then please do not use this site, because BY USING THIS SITE YOU WILL BE DEEMED TO HAVE IRREVOCABLY AGREED TO THESE RULES. Please note that these Rules may be revised and reissued without notice at any time. You should review the current Rules regularly, since your continued use of the site will be deemed as irrevocable acceptance of any revisions.

That said, we prefer to moderate with a soft hand, rather that with a mailed fist. Still rule #2 is available in addition to other options as may be determined. Please police your own posts before posting them and help keep OCDO strong and focused.

I've been doing some electrical work at the owner of Wild West Guns' personal house. So, I've been OC'ing while working there. Neither the carpenter nor painter said a word.

OCed in there many times over the years. They do have some good deals sometimes limited only of a few items.

Took my mom to Pahrump WalMart. It takes a few minuets as mom moves from her electric wheel chair and for me to get the wheel chair in the van. Just as mom gets into her van a vehicle parks a few cars away with extremely loud sound system. Not to exaggerate I believe one could understand the words 200 feet away. It was a rap song with words repeated over and over of MFer, the N word just to name a few. I thought in a minuet that they would shut it off and head into the store however they kept it up. I was sure my 82 year old mom did not want to hear it and I knew I did not like it. They were still sitting in the car with it blaring. Thought about walking over to them and ask if they would turn it off. Decided against it.
Here is what goes through my mind in just a few seconds.
I am not in harms way however believe I have right to let them know I thought it was rude.
I could not see into the car, had no idea how many were in the car.
If they are black how would it look to some as a white guy approaching them armed.

Decided to mark this one up as just another rude untrained idiots I will come across. Just as I was shutting the back door to the van they get out open the trunk with the loud filth playing. Look to be making some adjustments. Shut the truck and turned off the noise and locked the car up.

Two early twenty’s white boys walking by. Here is my chance they are waking past me. I said hey my 83 year old Mon. nor do I like hearing the carp coming from your car, They said just checking the sound system. I said I understand Wal-Mart parking lot is the only place in all of Pahrump where that can be done. They started waking a little faster toward the store as I turned to face them. One said, Hey it is the USA. I said so it is no need for you to be so rude and they scurried into the store.

The only reason I posted this is after getting home and thinking about it. As simple of an issue as it were all of the thoughts and evaluations that go through ones mind. Trying to stand up for ones rights and prevent it from elevating to a phone call being made to 911 there is a man with a gun threaten people in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Spotted:

Saw a guy OC in Reno near the B&N and Best Buy on South Virginia yesterday, 12/22. Some sort of semiauto in a Bianchi accumold thumb break (same holster I've used before). Looked to be business as usual for all around as he crossed the street in front of my car. Was this a member here?

Oced today at ToysRus Maryland Parkway near Flamingo no problems, Family Christian book store N Stephanie Street Henderson, Hobby lobby Henderson, Petro truck stop Iron Skillet restaurant after seeing the Christmas lights at the speedway. Full size 40 cal on one hip two shinny mags on the other. No issues.

Did see a guy in all black with a hoody had a sign saying only coward’s carry guns. He was at Maryland Parkway and Flamingo SouthEast corner. He had his sign facing the northbound traffic. Could not see the rest of what it was saying. Had I had time would have gone back parked and ask to shake his hand. Tell him thanks for exercising his right to legal protest follow it up with I prefer to be a live coward activist than a dead unarmed one. Thought it would be a good picture if I was able to get a picture of the sign and me armed.
