Kimber 1911 today.

Normal OC to the Boulder range as I finalized my practice for tomorrow vintage rifle match. I'll be shooting my M14 in both as-issued and scoped events. I made sure my Yugo Tokarev was ready for the pistol stage also.

Then I went to Extreme Ventures in Henderson again. Great little shop for reloading equipment. I ordered some Dillon parts that I needed and checked the inventory. Very good selection of primers, bullets, and rifle/shotgun powders at the moment.

Agree, nice people and the only shop I have found that actually has a good supply of powder and primers. Prices are reasonable with regard to the current market. I had been searching for IMR 3031 for a year and a half with no luck. Walked in there, asked them if they ever got any in. The guy went to the back room and came out with a box of kegs. Replenished my supply of various primers and then went home and argued with the wife about the money I spent. And so it goes.
OC friendly of course.

Open carried on a crowded Fremont with DocRed and SharpShootur no issues past Security or Metro. Went into a Pizza place took a table was there for 30 or so minutes no one cared we were armed.

My wife and I decided to go to Fry’s for some shopping and always no problems OCing at Fry’s. Just as we were finished checking out one of the checkers a very young lady ask me is that an XD? I was surprised she new what an XD was, I said yes it is apparently you know about them, with a smile she said sure do. It was busy and had to cut the conversation short. Stopped on the way home at Denny’s for a salad and coffee before heading home. Not one issue.

OC'd at Galleria Mall, Verizon, Sears, and Men's Warehouse, all in Henderson near Sunset/Stephanie, as well a smoke shop and a dry cleaners, both over on Warm Springs and Arroyo Grande with nothing more than a couple sideways glances and double takes. ;) Felt great to OC again, that's for sure!

PS:

Again, I'm going to restate that, I have YET to see another civilian open carrying in Henderson! Heck, even at Lock 'n Load, with at least 10 shoppers, NOT ONE was OC?! :uhoh:

Y U Not do dis!

I OC'd nonstop for the first year and a half I lived here, and LnL was my gun store the whole time. Now I CC more than OC around the Henderson area, but I've never been bothered.

Hadn't been to Accuracy Gun Shop in years, and decades before that. They have a much better inventory than they used to, and the gunsmith is a good guy.

But unfortunately, there is a sign written on the door that says loaded firearms are not allowed to be carried except for cops. I cannot support that, even though concealing apparently leaves them happily ignorant.

Shouldn't their sign say "except for cops and criminals"?

I have yet to meet a criminal that has ever said "crap I have to unload my nine before I go into that store, they have a sign".

(Insert sarcasm)

Does that mean the employees are unarmed or at least do not carry loaded.

We went to a restaurant last night called "herbs and rye" and I OC'd. No problems with OC, but the drinks were very expensive (and didnt taste very good), they didnt have any hefewizen beer, and the food selection was pretty damn expensive. I wouldnt recommend going unless you are a beef conosiour (sp?). The gimmic to this place is that they butcher their beef in house, and it is hormone/chemical/steroid free and 100% corn fed.

Interesting. The sign was down. The whole time they used to have a sign I OC'd in there with nary a word against it. Now it's back you say? hmmm!

I don't shop there anymore because they have not been supportive of getting rid of the county ordinances.

IIRC, the letters were painted on the door!

Even if they don't enforce their sign (like Spurlock's) I will refuse to support a gun shop with such a sign that blatantly disrespects us.

My brain is fried. Somehow I was thinking of Spurlock's. Accuracy has always been anti carry. The people in there are the south end of a north bound mule as well. They did support the petition drive to get rid of Blue Card however, Spurlocks did not.

Now that I have straightened that out, I'm going to go take my medicine...

Oc'd into Spurlock's today to get the .357 magnum checked out I inherited from my grandfather. Not even a word about it. They gave the .357 a clean bill of health so I can now use that as my new OC piece as soon as I get a holster for it! :D

Also OC'd at the Sam's club on Eastern and Serene without so much as a sideways glance. We walked around for well over an hour and a half plus ate at their little cafe thing and sat chatting for awhile.

Went into the Home Depot in the same area complex and had no issues as well. Overall was a great day to OC

I find that interesting. Almost a year to date I was ran out of the Galleria Mall OCing. Before that I had been in the mall and many of the stores occasionally for some years never an issue. I had walked past both the mall cops and the store security saying hi and no issue. Last year when I was asked to leave they clearly said the mall does not allow firearms in their facility's. I did ask to talk to a supervisor who only repeated the rule. I usually ask to see a copy of their policy however did not this time. I was respectful so were they and of course I did leave.
So I am wondering why you were not bothered. I know it is posted so I doubt they have change their rule. What makes sense to me is your firearm was not that obvious. What is you thoughts?

I think you're probably right. I carry a Makarov .380 currently and I'm a bigger guy(6'2, about 430lbs) so I dwarf the gun. haha. I know for certain a few different store employees saw me, including the ones at Dick's as I was in there for quite awhile looking at ammunition, handguns and compound bows. No one seemed to have an issue. It really surprised me. I walked by security on multiple occasions and they didn't say anything. Might be time to do an OC meetup in the food court. ;)

Sam's Club (don't wanna say which one) oc with an NRA shirt on. Long story short: 53 year old black guy came up and told me how awesome and how much he approved and appreciated my pro 2A stand in true 1A fashion.

He sat and talked with me for about 1/2 hour on tyranny and using your brain to see what's what in the world and so on. Reason I mention he's black - he's a microbiologist from CA sent here by his company to sell their products as punishment for calling a fellow black worker a lazy pos because that fellow worker is all for slave reparations. He told him, "We already have reparations, it's called welfare you lazy...." (use your imagination on how he finished that sentence).
So he's being punished and ordered to sensitivity training for "being racist" towards blacks....and he is black. Love it! (not what happened to him but that he sees no color)

Anyhow, he said he loves the "in your face" message I was sending and that if the sheep don't wake up soon the last chance for a free country will end up like all the rest.
Great guy! Great experience.

Oh, and he said that when his black coworkers said, "Aren't you proud that we (as blacks) got Obama in the White House" he answers, "No, as a black man, I'm embarrassed and as an American, I'm pissed".

This guy sounds like he needs to move out of Kalifornia.
