Recall the other child who shot himself after his dad gave him an automatic firearm....

But I have no issue with teaching children how to use automatic weapons.

Can you cite that instance, or are you referring to the instance in 2008 where it was a gun show and the father let his boy shoot one provided by the range, along with an instructor? Again, the dad had every reason to believe the instructor and the range knew what they were doing in providing a safe environment.

But yes, you are correct in that it was the grossly negligent circumstances at fault, not the age or the weapon.

ProShooter how long was the interview and did they cut anything out that you would have rather been shown

I guess we filmed for about 10-12 minutes. I wouldn't say that they cut anything substantial out. I gave her the info on the Code and the Mass. incident that she referenced, so it wasn't me saying it on camera per se, but she had the info nonetheless. She did ask a bit more about automatic weapons being legal, etc....not really anything that would have added to the story.

Nicely done. I would have had some difficulty not talking about what the instructor did wrong, how he put himself in the line of 'climb' by standing next to and to the left of a lefty. He should have had a controlling hand on the firearm, one on top, one on her elbow, much like a pro-golfer will do when showing how to putt.

Why not put the selector on short burst (is there a three shot setting? if not there should be.

The young girl was right handed - firing from the right side.
