i've open carried at cracker barrels in ohio and michigan, never had any problems. had a lengthy conversation with a cashier about open carry once. i wonder if this was just a rogue manager. maybe he never called corporate. i wouldn't take his word for it, i've never seen a no guns sign at a cracker barrel. in fact, i've been in cracker barrels that had guns on the walls.

OK, ...WHO keeps censoring me?! (at least my other forums have the decency to list who did it.)
This is the United States of America!
I did NOT yell "Fire" in a crowded theatre, nor did I violate any other person's rights.
My response, and subsequent apology to my 'previous-previous' post was vague, yet respectful.
I feel that there is a conspiracy against me as a private citizen of these United States - and my rights have been infringed!
Restore my previous post, immediately, dear sir(s)! We do not live in Eritrea.
"Political Correctness" led to Communist Cuba..." - John F. Kennedy

Conforming: I OC'd at a non-descript geographic location and had a verbal exchange with a non-gender specific entity. The non-gender curved aural vibrations which were intercepted by my cranial recognitive organs and I responded as predicted in a socially-directed manner.
Afterward, protein substances were consumed and the non-gender departed my direct perimeter.

Been a while since I posted, the same usual places no fuss, no muss, most of them are used to seeing me and the sidearm by now so it's no big deal to them now.

Today I went to a few stops worth mentioning.

1. Somerset mall - No comments, just alot of looks. Although when I took the wife into Tiffany's to look at a necklace I felt as though I showed up for final exams wearing nothing but a smile. Noone said anything but the whole store was staring the entire time we were in there, conversations stopped and heads turned. Oddly noone seemed to notice or care when we went into the Louis Vitton store ($3500 for a purse HAHAHAHAH)

2. Downtown Birmingham - Stooped in on the way out to another store to get a coffee from Starbucks. Was showing the wife the spot where Sean was harrassed, enjoying our coffee and smoking a cigarette as the Birmingham police rolled by. They slowed, looked and kept driving.

3. Munros Crafts - Just an amusing comment from a customer asking me if I was going to put crystals on my gun or holster. I laughed and said no the wife was picking up some stuff for a wedding present.

Does anyone know if there is a limit on how many rounds I can have in my magazine while I open carry? In talking to another rookie to OCing I was informed that there might be a limit to the amount of rounds a person can carry. I have a 16 round magazine and from what I understood I could have a full magazine. I only carry 5 rounds with me but I'm in fear that 5 rounds might not be enough to save my life. Thank you veterans, you guys have been a lot of help!

Let's try to keep the conversation on topic. Questions can be asked in their own threads or searched for. Your question is answered here.

On topic: Open carried at Empire Buffet in Comstock Park. No issues.

Ted Nugent (who frequents Michigan now and then) claims to carry in excess of 50 rounds. I've had 50 or so rounds once or twice while carrying (1 main and 2 bugs with spare mags) but that was more or less just an experiment to see what I could top out at. You shouldn't worry at all about how much is too much ;-). There is no legal upper limit in Michigan.

Thought I was going to have my first LEO encounter. I went to Meijer in Davison for cold meds, yep, the wife has it now, was in there for a while and the shopping was uneventful. as I was leaving I see a Davison TWP police cruiser comming down the aisle I parked in. I just continued out the door and right past him on my way to my truck. I got a glance is all. I do believe he spotted it. He was probably there for a shop lifter.

My new G20 6280 made its OCing debut tonight. Auto parts store, then pet supplies store, then Trader Joes. No problems, only one stuck up old lady giving me the stink eye at trader joes. Which I pretty much always expect when I OC at trader joes...

Art Prize OC / CC

Went to art prize with my wife and i was conceal carrying under a sweatshirt. I got warm took off the sweatshirt and was then open carrying my pistol, tied the sweatshirt around my waste and am then concealed again, wouldn't you know a citizen sees the OC gun and tells one of Grand Rapids finest about it. The officer, with a 3 police back-up came and asked me if i were concealed carrying, as I was and suspected someone already told him as much I said yes I am. He then of course asked to see my license and CPL which I passed over without argument but one comment "I should have just open carried!" The officer returned my ID and off my wife and i went. One more good reason to open carry!

Edit: Also OC'd at Meijers and Home Depot.

I OC'ed yesterday at the Leslie Marathon, and the Little Caesar's in Mason. I think everyone was more interested in the portable wound V.A.C. system I was carrying, than my 1911. The only comments I got were "what is that for?" with them pointing at the wound V.A.C. machine. :)
