OCed today at the chiropractor and the Columbia Ave. Meijers in Battle Creek. No issues but it was the first time I'd OCed into my chiropractor's office, she does know I carry. She noticed me set the holstered gun on the table along with all the other stuff from my pockets but didn't say a word.

I'm with fozzy on this.

I like the 6280 for exactly his stated reasons.

I ordered an SLS several weeks ago, and when trying to decide between the 6280 and 6287, I went with the 87 because it matched my other two OC holsters in ride height, another Safariland and a Blackhawk. I also think the lower riding 80 holster might be more of a problem when sitting in a car seat.

Holster is still on backorder from Optics Planet, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

The 6287 is a concealment holster
I've never understood that classification. It is an OWB holster, so to me all of those are OC holsters. It may be concealed if you wear a jacket.
The beauty of the Safariland holsters is you can order the belt loops, paddle, drop adapter, etc, and completely change how the holster rides by changing 3 screws.
As far as I know, the only way to do that is to get that goofy QLS Molle receiver plate and a 568BL Paddle.

If you just buy a 568BL Paddle only, it seems like you are missing the flat intermediate plate between the holster and the paddle that comes with Safariland paddle holsters that use this paddle, such as the 6378 ALS (the 568 holster doesn't need one). Also, where's the belt loop clip that would line up with the hole in the paddle?

Got any correct part numbers to convert an SLS with belt loops to a paddle?

I also think the lower riding 80 holster might be more of a problem when sitting in a car seat. .

My experience has been that it depends greatly on the car in question.

Personally, the way my holster fits my personal car seat arrangement, I like to tuck it outside of the seat belt for shorter rides, and remove my gun belt entirely for longer rides.

Let's get back OT; start a new thread if we're going to talk holsters.:dude:

That should not be needed, seeing as experiences with holsters are part of open carry experiences. When you further consider that holster use has its own forum, but varies state to state with varying weather and differing laws, I can't think of a more appropriate place to discuss this.

Tonight I tucked my 6280 outside of my seat belt this evening when I drove to whole foods.

It was mildly uncomfortable, as always, which is why I take it off for long rides. My high ride Galco is more comfortable in the car, but the high ride position is in my opinion better for concealment because it's so much easier to intentionally or unintentionally hide. But the 6280 stayed openly carried, underneath my coat while I was shopping, as it always does, which is why I like it. :)

And about Whole Foods, I did get some looks, but no questions or comments. They didn't have any pasture raised chicken though. :(

Yes, it was needed. The comments regarding holsters were off topic for the thread - they were not casual, occasional mention of the type. Such prolonged discussion should be in the Holster & Accessories sub-forum or by PM.
http://forum.opencarry.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?138-Holsters-and-Accessories

If you wish to discuss what holster(s) are a best fit for your weather and laws, then do so in a separate thread so titled to restrict it to Michigan, which would probably be left in the MI sub-forum, subject to seeing the content.

You chose to try to circumnavigate a polite redirection - to show you can? Neither polite nor responsible IMO.

Whether you "can't think of a more appropriate place to discuss this" is not the point - it is not your call. Moderators will make judgement calls - open forum is not the place to challenge that.

You may always appeal it to a higher authority - let us know how that works out, please.

This crud is getting very old....

There's no pleasing some folks. No one want to wade through numerous posts pro or con a particular brand / style of holster to gain an appreciation of people's daily encounters (or, especially, lack thereof).

Back OT- OC'ed at Speedway & the club, checking out reloads for the new HiPower.

OC'd today at:

Meijers in Corunna

then

Wal Mart and KFC in Owosso.

No problems, no hassles, some glances but not even any hard looks... it was just another day.. exactly as it should be.

I suspect he maent Grapeshots comment being unneeded as you are likely very able to explain for yourself. Just my thought

I, for one, did not realize there was a holster sub-forum on OCDO. Although I was following up on a specific statement, I can see where a prolonged holster discussion would be more appropriate there. I did move my questions to PM, though.

me- "can i marry you again?"
she just got her CPL this past week btw, oakland county is now doing the nice credit card style CPLs i just renewed a couple months ago and got the crappy laminated one. she has open carried a couple times, but this time we were able to carry in a liquor licensed establishment. we had dinner at the clarkston union (in clarkston). i was wearing my 1911 in my new ph10 pride holster:

I have some fond memories of the Clarkston Union from my married days. They make some great breakfast grub.

OC'd yesterday at the local party store and the stock help asked me if I was carrying a Glock. I found it a bit odd since my FNP9 bi-tone has a fairly obvious exposed hammer but I suppose it isn't all that odd considering how popular Glocks are. He said he OC's every day when not at work.

I took the family down to Cracker Barrel for our Anniversary and I run into one of the Manager outside and told me I couldn't being my gun into cracker barrel and they had two other people they had to leave or put they weapon in the car. They said, they called Corporate and said the police is no gun at all. So I guess Cracker barrel is now anti gun. If I was by my self I would have left. I told them I always carry in here. I sure was mad when they told me. Can some one get hold of the corporate office and see what is the policy really is.
