are you judging this board on an obviously far off topic thread that has been running since last summer with only sporadic posting?

fedup is correct...

We do need to get out more...

out in the open with our legally possessed and carried firearms in the sun NOT HIDDEN IN THE CLOSET!

Out, so that society as a whole and the agents of society (LEO'S) recognize that the individual with a holstered firearm calmly walking down the street, or in the bank, or the store, IS NOT A THREAT TO SOCIETY.

I have no desire for "society" to be in fear of me and my openly carried legally possess tools of self-defense and defense of my family. My goal is for the CRIMINAL to be afraid and pick a different method of personal support (LEGAL EMPLOYMENT).

So, I invite fedup to join with us as a partner in recognizing our rights as identified in the United States of America Constitution and also the Utah State Constitution for UTAH RESIDENTS

Legal ownership, possession, and use of a firearm is no more dangerous to society than a fire-extinguisher! Would someone walking down the street with a fire-extinguisher be stopped and investigated by law enforcement after a 911 call about a man with an extinguisher? No!!!!

Are you suggesting that the problem is Law enforcement?

Read my post.....

either LEO's INITIATE the contact on their OWN VOLITION or in RESPONSE to a call initiated by a "MEMBER OF SOCIETY." Either way, if the LEO has NO Reasonable articulable suspicion then no detention is legal. If the caller is misinformed, uniformed, or just a ass who doesn't like seeing a firearm then the dispatcher needs to SCREEN the call.

I am assuming that you are going to decline my pleasant civil invite to JOIN US.

fedup, the majority of the problem has tended to be, IMHO, both LEO and private citizens not knowing that Open carry is legal, and therefore some who choose to excercise their god given right to OC have been wrongfully accosted by members of the public, but more often by LEO.

I OC for multiple reasons. The main driving factor is self defense, and being under the age of 21, i cannot yet obtain a CWP. This makes OC my only legal recourse.
I also OC to help spread awareness of the legality of such an act.

Through the efforts of many on this forum, knowledge of the legality of OC has spread, and with it the education of LEOs about the legality has increased. Therefore making it easier for a Law abiding citizen to OC without fear of misguided, and in some cases illegal negative encounters with LEO.

Sorry, I'm ADD and forgot what point I was trying to convey.

I'll post it if I remember later.

NO, I don't think so.

I do recognize and support the rights wholeheartedly. But I will not jump on your bandwagon.

I feel that most of theincidents discussed and whined about here are caused by the behavior of the carrier and then the carrier whines that his rights were violated. My OPINION....flames 5,4,3,2,1.

No flame here. I am curious, however, of the reason you chose to sign up and post your dissent. Bad experience?

Most of usalso post on a concealed carry website. Would you like to hate on us there also?

So, you acknowledge that the rights of certain carriers are violated and your concern is that they whine? And you are alleging they are responsible for the behavior of the LEO's?

I acknowledge that incidents happen. And if someone feels that they can whine and get sympathy they will. I have not found many complaints that hold water IMO. And You Joesparky are an excelent example of the bait and switch game.

I suggest your efforts mayl be more fruitful if you attmempt to find joy and beviolated atONE MAN BAND.

What has happened to you? Why do you hate so much?

So fedup, I wonder, when I OCed into Target, was followed by an employee who looked very nervous, decided to leave since they were obviously uncomfortable with my carrying.

I was later stopped by a police officer roughly 1-2 blocks away from the target. Was searched after refusing consent. Weapon was confiscated, and after being held for over 2 hours, and after the pd supervisor had advised his officers to return my firearm and let me go, and then left, i was cited with disorderly conduct, and was released sans revolver.

Now, I had done nothing but walk into the target, greeted a security guard when he greeted me, looked at an ac unit, then left.

Now, in your opinion, is this not something that something needs to be done about?

Just wondering at your opinion.

Sadly, I had hoped to have a different opinion develop about FEDUP than a previous poster but this individual has cemented the opinion of others in my mind of a TROLL!
