Uh OH! I just had a forum relevant thought!

How would PETA view the OC movement after reading this thread!:p

Okay, so the swat team came to my house on new years eve, and since they really didn't do anything wrong, I unfortunately cannot file a complaint.

Umm. I missed the part where they had a warrant?

So, since they couldn't come in the house--no exigent circumstances (its New Years eve for crying out loud) and no warrant, they decide to make/ask you to come outside?

I'd call a lawyer. A swat team in the front yard would be, to me, sufficiently intimidating as to make me feel compliance would be compelled.
So THX, I thought they didnt do anything wrong. But you seem to be changing your tune. I am kinda curious what exactly happened.

I'm guessing he's not changing his tune so much as he's changing his ideas about what constitutes "wrong."

We've hada number of folks post police-encounters where they felt like the LEO's acted reasonably. Until we started telling them where the LEOs violated Terry law, played fast and loose with the meaning of the word "request" vs. the meaning of the word "demand, etc.

perhaps he is being coached along. Its pretty easy to coax someone else into a fight and stand by and watch what happens I suppose. You know, stand on the sidelines with nothing invested....after you encouraged it to happen. It wont be you going to the shed to get flogged.

I hope that is not what is happening here.

Ah, you know, gotta keep the details down for now.

Gotta review the police report and the radio traffic as well as the 911 calls, to see where I can go with this.

Thing is, I want them to learn a little something about harassing citizens.

They've been on my doorstep bothering me about OC too many times now. And not one time have they been able to cite me with any crime whatsoever.

Of course, there may not be enough for anything with this one, so I need to do some reviewing.

This one? possibly a person who is not a friend. Whom I had only known for a short time, but since I haven't reviewed the 911 call yet, I can't be sure.

But there was only one 911 call, and being as it was new years eve, I can't imagine they would run out on every "possible shots fired" call they received, especially not with two fireteams to two seperate locations looking for one guy who has been on active duty for three months.

You sir, have ENTIRELY too much time on your hands! :p

This thread is kinda like the porkulus plan that the liberals just approved. It may contain one or two useful ideas, but the rest needs to be taken out back and shot! ;)

Wow, that must have taken a while to go over this whole thing, and no I won't be letting this one die soon.

But yes the porkulus plan is really stupid.:(

i would have Moo agree with Moo. The very idea of this thread dying would seriously 'bring down' the Moo-jority of what we are trying Moo accomplish here with OC. "THX vs. The Cows" is a Moo-dern-day classic.
