Oh, I guess I didn't post the conclusion of that now did I?

Yeah, I made a formal complaint, and the officers involved were reprimanded. Not sure what sort of reprimand or punitive actions were taken. They wouldn't tell me.

In any case, I have not been bothered by that PD since then.

Ahh, good point.

I had intended to do so, but I was pretty busy preparing to go to BCT and didn't.

Then I was at BCT and couldnt get on the internet, then I forgot.

I will post every little detail I can recall as soon as I get to a computer with internet access. I'm posting on a dang cell phone and it's slow.

Most of usalso post on a concealed carry website. Would you like to hate on us there also?

this week the anti love is reserved to you. The deputy Kovorkian post was seriously offensive.

fedup, the majority of the problem has tended to be, IMHO, both LEO and private citizens not knowing that Open carry is legal, and therefore some who choose to excercise their god given right to OC have been wrongfully accosted by members of the public, but more often by LEO.

I OC for multiple reasons. The main driving factor is self defense, and being under the age of 21, i cannot yet obtain a CWP. This makes OC my only legal recourse.
I also OC to help spread awareness of the legality of such an act.

Through the efforts of many on this forum, knowledge of the legality of OC has spread, and with it the education of LEOs about the legality has increased. Therefore making it easier for a Law abiding citizen to OC without fear of misguided, and in some cases illegal negative encounters with LEO.

Sorry, I'm ADD and forgot what point I was trying to convey.

I'll post it if I remember later.

I agree with you to a point. I knowa couple cops and many citizensthat are just learning about it.
Seems a little confusing in some ways.

well, you're right, it can be confusing, I know I wish it were cut and dry.

Unfortunately it's not. As that is, the beast we all can do is keep an open mind while fighting for the values we hold.

This may offend others, but trying to not offend anyone is part of what has put this country in the sorry state it is in.

Maybe that is a tactic we should adopt and use in reverse more often.

Snitty lady, "Why do you need to carry that gun?"

OCer, "I'm offended by your attitude."

I did it playfully recently.

Someone asked in a friendly way if I was a cop. I pretended in an obviously playful way that I was insulted for being mistaken for anything as low as a police officer. :)

It got a big smile.

I think it will become more cut and dry. If we dont destroy ourselves in the process.

Thank you! :) Not only was it seriously offensive (to some), it was seriously free speech.

Wasnt it you who used to blastME on this forum for using the old "free speech" line?
Probably. :D Just like private property, this is a privately owned forum. We can freely speak all we want, until John or Mike start editing our asses. Just don't claim that we have the right to speak freely here, because we have the privilege.

Hostile  You have the privilege of beating my ass until you deprive me of life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness. At which point my wife reserves the right to defend me from said forcible felony with the use of deadly force. :p
