Ironically, the first gun control laws in southern states were designed to restrict gun possession by the newly freed slaves.
If Milwaukee ever restricted the possession of firearms by blacks, the homicide rate would drop by oh 85-90%.
Sorry to insult any law abiding black gun owners, but I'm just keepin' it real.
This kind of talk needs to stop right now. I am being 100% real on that.

Why? Politically correct speech is just as much an infringement on our rights as gun control laws. By being politically correct in your speech is the first step toward the out right ban on words. God help us then.

Let him say what he wants.
Well if Milwaukee ever developed such a law, then we would have a real 14th A case against Milwaukee. It would clearly violate the equal protection clause.

As to reporting it stolen, I don't think they kept the firearm, just had him unload it, so it wasn't stolen.
I know they didn't keep it, but it sure would have been funny if the OP would have walked away and then called the cops.

I happen to know the staff in the Gander gun department very well. I can say 95% of the guys there would give you a pat on the back for OC'ing. There's one guy, however that's so liberal it's mind boggling he works in a gun department. That's the guy I overheard tell a customer that state law mandates a gun must be locked. I think he probably knows the laws, he just has an agenda. I'm thinking you probably met this guy, did he have a ponytail? ...if you don't mind me asking.

I stopped at the DeForest Gander Mountain today after work and carried for about 30 minutes in the gun department. Every employee saw the gun including ponytail guy. No problems.

I have NEVER spent a dime at Gander, nor will I ever, they are WAY too expensive.. I avoid that place like WalMart, I mean ChinaMart another store that has never made a dime off of me. Buy from your ma pop stores, or the guy you know that has an FFL.

There is a complete idiot who works at the Appleton GM who has a pony tail and gives a person a headache whenever I have the misfortune to speak to him. But he's not the reason I don't shop there, their over priced EVERYTHING is.

Back before the X cleaned me out in the divorce, I wish I would have stocked up on 45LC since their price has doubled (and that's the cheapest place I could find)!

I forgot to mention. I refuse to be politically correct! Not because it seems that there is a category for everyone that needs to be wrapped with pretty ribbons and bows because someone will get hurt otherwise, but also that there can be labels like cracker, whitey, etc... that is completely OK to utter even on prime time TV with no thought to it being racist if you think about it. Now I don't care what I get called, because I speak my mind even if it gets me in trouble.

And all this PC stuff is just separating everybody from each other. That's not what we should be doing. Then again, if you don't want to be around me I'm fine with that. There are groups I will never try to fit in with.

But getting back to the discussion. I would never OC in GM not because of the chance of being asked to leave, but because I won't shop there. The same goes for most stores, really. I like to shop at the smaller places, in small towns where there isn't 20 checkouts with only 5 open. Chances are where I go it is lucky if there are 2. I spent a great portion of my later teens into my 20s working for Wally World as I was in college and my employment got transferred back and forth. I know the game where they just look at the bottom line and pretty much brainwash the employees into thinking like they want them for better control, and to make it easier to work their asses off without problems.

I'm done ranting. I'm tired from a long day, and from all the idiots out there trying to keep us under thumb.

I don't like the way you handled it for one reason. You unholstered a loaded weapon ina store.

I'm not saying you handled the weapon in an unsafe manner while you were unloading it. I'm saying that this would have been a perfect time and opportunity for an accident to happen.

Why would anyone voluntarily take on this type of potential liability in a public place by unecessaruly handling a loaded firearm?

Did they have a clearing barrel?

What if you had a negligent discharge? Are you really prepared to pay out damages for injuring property and people must because some random person asks you to handle and unload your gun?
