Why should that be a deterrent? It means there aren't nearly enough people OCing, and your willingness to do so might help start a trend!

It can feel pretty awkward OCing at first but don't worry about it, you'll get comfortable once you get more sure of yourself. Just think, you may not see many people carrying but if you carry a lot of people will see you :^)!

Ok well I got back in the OC saddle again.

I OC to Food Lionand the Shell station accross the street on Tidewater and Cromwell yesterday. Only the attendant at the shell gave me any starnge looks.Made a couple jokes and chit chat and all seemed well.

OC at Farm Fresh and Navy Federal Credit Union at Centerville Marketplace (corner of Centerville Turnpike and Mount Pleasant Road in Chesapeake). No issues.

Went to pick up lunch for me and the Boss at Moe's SW Grill (in the shopping center at the intersection of Providence and Kempsville).

The young ladies behind the counter were very professional. It almost seemed that they went out of their way to act nonchalant about my little buddy. So, two thumbs-up: one for doing their job, and one for their reaction (or lack thereof).

The Boss says we have to go grocery shopping tomorrow, so I'm thinking we may head over to the new Harris-Teeter on Ferrel Pkwy. If it's anything like the H-T's in NoVA, there'll be plenty of yuppies in there. More to follow.

Well friends... I have a very disturbing and negative situation to report...

This happened at the Red Lobster in Hampton. The admiral And I went out to eat with some life long friends. My Friend has a really outgoing and almost obnoxious.. (You all know the type :banghead: I love him Like a Brother from another mother... but...)

anyway We got to the Dead Lobster and I took off my Coat... and there's my Gun... Well I didn't tell My friendsbefore hand(I never thought about it...) and had to splane to them both the usual stuff... why I carry etc.. they both excepted and we went on to order and have a good time. They all ordered drinks (not me) and after 2 rounds... I kid you not my dear friend told the waiter...

"You had better serve us well... my friend has a Gun.. (Pointing at me) and he Will SHOOT you if you mess up our order...."

:what:AAACCKKKK!!! I kicked him under the table (Hard)...

the poor kid looked at me... and I said as friendly as I could muster... no way will I Shoot you... My friend (and kicked him again...under the table) has a Bucket mouth and has drank to much...

Sheeeeeesh..... anyway... the fun's not over yet...

We got through our meal and ordered the desert... and dang if my friend didn't do it again... "Now remember .... Bang Bang.... when you bring the tab...":banghead:

I hope his shins hurt for a long time....

Sounds like your friend must have been very uncomfortable with your carrying. I have an employee, a friend who has many guns, who is always riding me about carrying in the shop saying 'why do you need a gun in the shop' and such. He thinks I am ridiculous and it embarasses him I guess.

Your friend may have thought it ridiculous to carry and felt embarrassed by you so he "retaliated" by trying to embarrass you. Maybe, just a thought.

That could be.. he seemed okay that I was armed... but I will ask him...eventually.

Right now I will just blame the whole thing on Gov. Timmy.

Sorry to hear that. Sorda sounds like my 4 year old when we go out. He has a habbit of letting folks know daddy has a gun. Unlike my son I'm sure your friend will understand the stiff tone of the voice when ya talk to him about it.

OC'd at Smokey Bones in Newport News. It was the best BBQ I've had in a very long time. I think it was better than Pierce's!
