As someone who has held a profile on OCDO for over a year, but hasn't bothered contributing much in the way comments except calling someone a racist it's clear to me what you are and that you won't be capable of contributing anything worth reading in the future.

Incidentally, what race would muslims be? Of course I won't be able to see your answer, since I'm sure it will be as intellectually vapid as everything else I've seen you post I won't waste time reading it.

My argument, though logical, is different from your own so therefore must not be intellectual. I get your type. You can't make a solid point to support your own position so you attempt to discredit mine with no basis and attack me (based on profile) personally. Now if I may overstep my social restraint in your direction a bit. Obviously from your one response on the matter I've concluded you to be about as deep as propagated fox news word vomit. Also, please, for the sake of other readers don't take single words from my post out of context and then try to make a point of them. Have some adroitness.

Oh, and his signature line is an Irish rallying cry for unification which has of late been adopted by the Palestinians.

Just an FYI.

Hurrah you can google. After this post I have to laugh that you attempted to say I was deflecting previously. Maybe if you relate more of my profile through 4 degrees of separation to some sort of slightly relevant middle eastern group you can convince the other mindless demagogues that I'm a, how did I put it in my previous post, "terrorist supporting freedom hater."

Once again, you are claiming to know what is in the mind of the person to whom you are posting.

I will leave judgments of you by others to them. I merely pointed out the meaning of your signature. Knowledge is power. Your words in your posts and your signature are there for all to see and evaluate.

Unlike what you have done to others, I will not try to climb inside your mind and tell others what you are thinking. I trust folks here are intelligent enough to draw their own conclusions when presented with the facts.

Goodbye for now.

I find it incredibly amusing how Eye95 is constantly accusing people of 'creating a strawman' when in fact it is he that is doing it more often than his rivals. He accuses those that he disagrees with of making one logical fallacy while he himself makes several in the process, often times including the one he is accusing the other of making.

Another one of his favorite fallacies to bandy about is the ad hominem fallacy. You know, the fallacy where you attack the person rather than the argument itself.

Goodbye for now.

In a previous post in this thread you state- "Go ahead and repeat your the annoyingly oft-repeated strawman or your deflection." How is this not attempting to define or claim what I'm thinking or planning on doing. I guess that wasn't an attempt to climb inside my mind. Though empirically you may have "merely pointed out the meaning", people on this forum are smart enough to decipher the connection you are attempting to make. I don't fault you for this because these are the elements of debate. The difference between you and I then, is I don't try and deny it. Hypocrisy is a shameful thing. Either way, I guess you responding at all was a compliment I suppose I managed to provide "something new and substantive" to call for you retort. Good talking with you eye, See you around.

What's being built: a community center, similar to a YMCA
The strawman: OMG it's an islamic victory center that celebrates the deaths of 9/11

Much like truthers, I've realized that if a person is able to actually parse the strawman and not say "that is crazy", then there is no longer a chance to reach them. Islamophobia and homophobia are the racism of our generation. Like in generations past, each step towards freedom will be hard fought against the dogmatic and mindlessly entrenched views of the haters. Where the past may have been "it's not about whether it's legal for a black man to marry a white woman, it's whether it's sensitive for them to do so. I think that when one does so they do it only because they want to show victory of the <racial slur for black people> kind over the white man due to a liberal court and their liberal politics." The present has become the same, but with Islam/Muslims/gays replacing the target of hate.
