Hmmm another reason to buy from NewEgg!!
Well obviously you didn't inform them you were oc'ing while on the web page,
or you would have been asked to "log off", you are scaring the SSL servers.

I just wish I could nail down which wharehouse items come from so I can
use the local ones with ground shipping.
Every other order gets shipped from the other coast, and I get stuck waiting.

But lucky for me UPS has a "No Gun" policy, or my chicken would be on the grill now,
She jumped him on the way out after dropping off my box.:p

Mastiff69 did the calling. We meet at Lansing for the tea party and he had his recorderwith himand played it for my recorder which I can download. I used only the pertinent portion of the whole conversation. Mastiff likes to chat;). But he got what we needed.

Look at the text above the audio in Mastiff's post, he names the guy. Put back on those old guy glasses, you know like the ones I'm wearing now.;)

clean YOUR glasses. i wrote the name is not included WITHIN the audio. the only reason i mention that is because it would be helpful if i had to play it back on my MP3 if dealing with a difficult best buy manager.

I have the whole 10 minute phone call along with the Gentleman spelling out his name and stating that he is with corporate, and that he said that it is there policy to follow the laws set down by each state that they operate in .... I gave him severel times to back out or change his stance on there policy and he never wavered !!!

POOR Venator i thought he was going to blow a gasket, or fall asleep, from the length of the recording HAHAHA !!!!!!!

Excellent job, maahes. Very responsible, confident, informed, firm, adaptable, and composed.

And effective, too. Both with the JCPD and BB.

You are a credit to the OC and CC communities, IMHO.

Guess what!! I was in Best Buy 4/09/09 looking for a printer when I was surrounded by four Jackson City police Officers. They asked"do you have a gun"? "I said yes"! They asked if I had a permit which I do. So they took me out to the hallway, checked me out and informed me that I was not welcome back in Best Buy that day. I was carrying concealed, but someone must have seen the outline. So I bought a printer somewhere else. The Mall manager was also there and informed me that he doesn't want firearms carried in "HIS" Mall either. So I asked the guy, what would you do if some drugged out boyfriend came into a store and decided to blow away his girlfriend, and on his way in took out a few customers on the way. He said "I WOULD RUN"! I said " I would too, only toward the problem, not away from it". I now carry the Michigan law on where a weapon cannot be carried. Not that I want to make trouble, but people can't just make up their own rules just because they don't like the State of Michigan's laws, and neither can the police departments! So lets post no weapons signs in every business, so criminals will know they are in no danger from a law abiding citizen. Send them a signal Jackson Crossing! You are welcome to rob any business here with no interference.

Cheers...

I have yet to hear from the security director.

Im beginning the early stages of gathering information for sending letters to all the store managers in Jackson Crossing, including the out parcel stores. Telling the mall manager or a few security guards that we wont be shopping there seems in-effective, as they do not directly get their money from us and thus dont care what we as patrons have to say. The mall makes its money from the rent paid by the stores. Telling the individual store managers that there is a large group of people who will not patron their stores and to please contact the mall manger asking that the policy be revised should carry a bit more weight.

With light of recent news about local mall owner GGP claiming bankruptcy (link) our money and where we decide to spend it should hold a higher value than it does.

"Someone must have seen the outline?"

How else would somebody have fingered you?

What does your permit require regarding concealment of a carried gun?

Unfortunately Batman this is not the case. The Mall and any/all stores within the Mall are considered private property and therefore, at any time, can prohibit people from carrying into/on their property. The only thing that can be done at this time is to make phone calls, send emails, write letters, etc, by folks who frequent the Mall which BTW is being done.

ETA: Welcome to OCDO Batman

Why did you add the question mark to your quote of his words? He wasn't asking a question about how someone fingered him. He was making a statement as to how he believes he was most likelyfingered. "I was CC'ing but someone saw the outline" versus, say, "I was CC'ing, but I bent over and someonesaw part of the holster" or"I was open carryingand someone saw the handgun". Yes, there are possibilities for how else he could have been fingered. He was telling us likely which possibility it was.

Michigan law nor the Michigan CPL requires concealment of a carried gun. If you don't have a CPL, your only lawful option is tocarry openly. If you have a CPL, you may carry openly, fully concealed, or partially concealed.

You sound very, um, enthusiastic....

Some people keep fire extinguishers for putting out their own fires, and some of those folks would run toward a neighbor's house to help them put outa fire. Some people keep a small can of gas in their vehicle in case they run out of gas, and some of those folks would drive over to someone on the side of the road that needs gas and help them out. To me, words/phrases like prepared and like a good samaritan come to mind as appropriate, in those examples and the one of going to the lawful defense of someone else, in place ofenthusiastic:

"You sound very, um, prepared...."

"You sound very, um, like a good samaritan...."

Now, if you mean "enthusiastic about being prepared and being a good samaritan", I would say, "So, what . . . shouldn't everyone be and shouldn't we take note of and comment on a lack of enthusiasm for those?" :)

No, you won't.

Myself and my weapon have only ever been unwelcome in two establishments (one a mall and the other thinks its a "bar") in the entire Commonwealth of Virginia, and neither was posted.

LOL!

If only it were so simple, and "anti-gun" really was equatable with "genetic deficiencies".

Actually, I take it back, because that would justify eugenics.
