These are my kind of facts:

Doctors:
A)   The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
(B)   Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are   120,000.
(C)   Accidental deaths per physician is     0.171. Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services.

Now think about this:

Guns:
(A)   The number of gun owners in the U.S. is
80,000,000.  (Yes, that's 80 million)
(B)   The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.
(C)   The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is    .000188. Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.'

FACT:   NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN,
BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR!

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.
We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!
Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on  lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention!

So there are bad people every where. Doctors, lawyers, policemen, pastors, janitors, and the list goes on.... Thing is, when a bad person from one of our groups (open carriers)(concealed carriers) does a bad thing it usually makes a big mess with people dead, which make big headlines. That's why people fear guns.

No gun related charges, they were by law carrying openly and legal. it was just the idea of them fighting while both carrying guns, so I guess some people might get a little upset by that! This incident was last year before the Mall had a gun policy. You can bet your sweet bippy that if it was bad news, the Citizen Patriot would print it. Completely biased, liberal newspaper, that's why I don't subscribe to it. So I'm off to Schupbach's
That's just it. Where did you get this info from? It does paint gun carriers in a bad light, so I would expect there to be some press about it. So far, you are the only source I've heard it from.

We NEED a cite for this. The reason we need the cite is because it's the sort of thing that anti's could use. Without the cite, we just don't have enough knowledge to discuss it.

I am not saying that this did not happen, I just think that it is something that I would have remembered happening. Or at the very least it would have been thrown in my face by those that I seem to have a continuing disagreement with about the subject of OC.

I'd like a cite too. I would like to learn more about the murder/suicide case that started with an OCer/OCer fight in public. It's quite interesting, if it occurred.

Got a cite, Batman?

HankT, it didn't happen. If it did, many of us here in the Michigan sub-forum would have already known about it and posted/cited the source. And, quite frankly, even if it did, I would not use "interesting" to describe the event.

OK. I think it likely then that Batman II is either badly mistaken or is just fibbing for some reason. His silence indicates that.

However, a physical fight in public with two openly armed men would be highly interesting. Everyone here would want to read about it. As we can tell from the prior comments in this very thread.

Heck, I'm not sure whether a public fight of two OCers would generate anti-OC or pro-OC opinions. Probably both. And that would be interesting too.

I kinda hope it happens someday...

But what if your Doctor has a gun?
