Who has had the shortest turnaround time (application mailed/handed in) to receipt?
Who has been waiting the longest?

Honor System in Effect.

Literally dozens of us that dropped off applictions at the Attorney General's office in the Capitol on Nov. 1, 2011 received them in the mail on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011. That is the shortest turn-around. The longest turn-around cannot be determined yet, because tens of thousands still have not recieved.

Put in Delavan post office Nov 1. Proof was license from another state.

Got in mail today, issued Nov 8. 2379

I dropped my app. off at the Deforest Post Office (just north of Madison) on 11/1, around 1:00 p.m.

Paid with a money order.

Training: Hunter's Safety Certificate.

Issued on 11/8, recieved 11/10.

Permit # 3057.

#3057 is a pretty high number for the first 7 or 8 days of processing, to reach.
That is great.

The #2379 (issued on Nov. 8 also) was probably involved in the hangup for manual background check verification.

By the morning of Nov. 8th, the people doing processing, were working with reduced needs for training requirements information as a result of the JCRAR suspension of some of the rules provisions. Most of the training certificates (prior to the Oct. 14 DOJ emergency rules approval) used by NRA, and other organizations, would now meet the requirements, in and of themselves, the 4 hours minimum training did not need to be listed on the documentation.

Less information to check/enter and fewer rejected applications.

Well out of anybody here, he would be my pick to get #2. He most certainly deserves it.
There are quite a few legislators in Madistan I'd like to give a heaping pile of #2 to...

Why would a LEO ask if you have a license if you are not carrying?
Because they're nosy.
Because they're used to being able to ask people anything & get answers.
Because if you're carrying concealed they wouldn't be able to tell.
Because maybe that's the new programming, along with "license, registration, & insurance".

Placed in the bin at the DOJ in Madison on 11/02 at 8:30 am.
Used my Utah CWP as proof of training.
Received 11/04.

I wonder why the delay in mailing? I'm thinking background hold again for some reason.
They'd blippin' better not be stumbling on the Brookfield thing again!
Last pistol I bought, I talked w/ the supervisor over there, even had my lawyer call, then email them the letter from the DA, but the sup'v said that it was finally straightened out & would never be a problem again.

I got mine today. Mailed on the 1st and was issued on the 8th. I used my internet hunter safety certificate. I was a little worried that it would not be accepted but it seems it was. Now I am going to try it out with a walk around the block.

They have until the 15th. Then I get riled up.

Oak1971. the DOJ might have messed up. When I got my hunter safety certificate the DNR had the wrong zip code and DOB on it. I had it corrected right away but it shows that the government can make mistakes.

address on hunters safety certificate does not have to match. How many people are still living in the same house when they first took it as a kid? or from another state. I gave my MI permit, and MI hunters safety, mailed on the 1st, and check was cashed 11/10.

They got like 10k apps received on nov 2. So if they are only at permit 4000 or so, it means they are only about halfway done with permits received on nov 2.

Chinese what?

The way in which license numbers and days of submission are varying so wildly on licenses received tells me that the DOJ is not processing in the order received, and the permits just get dumped into a big bin. They are flying by the seat of their pants right now.... Piss-poor management whether you ask me or not, considering they had four months to figure out what would happen when the flood gates opened on Nov 1st and what they could do about it. "Chinese fire drill" comes to mind. (No disrespect meant to our Asian members)

Check Cashed On The 10th...Still No "License"...

The D.O.J. cashed the check. It posted on my account on the 10th but still nothing in the mail. Well, I am hoping our mail person didn't put it in the wrong box....that has happened in the past several times. I mailed my application on 1NOV from Kenosha so I am guessing they received my app on the 2nd.

Still waiting....

Pretty much same boat. Check posted 11/9. Nothing but junk mail on mailbox today. Still waiting for that decoder ring.

My worry is that my mail carrier, who has a track record of delivering mail to the wrong mailboxes, will deliver it to one of the seasonal cottages on my street. Who knows when I will see it.:uhoh:
