Mailed 11/1 8am from Waukesha. No activity yet on the check. Possible that I got stuffed to the bottom of the PO box stack on wednesday.

They had to know they were going to get swamped with applications. Seriously though, for as long as we had to wait to get these permits, these government paper pushers could actually stand to earn their pay for once.

With nothing in the mail yet, Mine probably got delayed with the background check and my app was most likely tossed into the "Problem Child" room where they have a person come in once a month to sort through that pile.
I do not have a criminal history, I do not have a common name, I was born in this state. But I always get delayed multiple days for any firearm purchase be it a handgun or long gun. Getting a U-PIN through NICS is about the only way I see how I can make this delay crap stop.

So, now that we all got the DOJ crawling up our arse with a microscope, hows about we lean on a legislator to author a bill that states if we carry a valid WI CWP that we are not subject to the NICS check or 48 hour wait for a handgun. Maybe Galloway would want to start this? She seems to be the only one with a set of balls anymore.

I go through the same crap every time I buy a gun too. I got my permit today though and mailed it regular old mail on 11/1.

That could get expensive for me fast! The only think that keeps me from buying all the shiny toys I see is that I will have to come back in two days and that kills the instant gratification.

No Chit?? Things may be looking up then. Where are you at in WI? I believe Vilas county has a "Mail Storage Facility" instead of a post office. We lost our Arbor Vitae post office to downsizing, so We share a ZIP code with Woodruff in Oneida County. And those Mongoloid-Rat-Bastards will kick some of my mail back if someone puts "Woodruff" for the city from using an auto lookup by using the ZIP code alone and not correcting it to say Arbor Vitae. I even had an argument with the DMV wanting to put my city as Woodruff because that is what their computer mistakenly used, Oh Schittt, maybe that is a problem with this?? Lets keep our fingers crossed, and stay out of Menominee Falls with cased BB-Guns and loose ammuntion in the meantime.

Since they changed the training standards....how many in the "Rejected" pile were rejected for improper training?....and how long is it going to be before they go back through that pile?

I know that does not apply to me, I sent in my WI-HS Cert (dated 1981) I did not send an illegible copy, I sent the signed printout from an ALIS retailer.

With nothing in the mail yet, Mine probably got delayed with the background check...

Not necessarily. It's likely two days by mail from up north to Madistan. I mailed mine the 1st day, from Eagle River P.O., and I haven't heard anything either. I've gone through either NICS or DOJ background checks 23 times since they started them in 1998, and never got delayed a single time. My training submitted was a current Florida CWL, and I used the current affirmation form. I sent two (color) copies of FL license... one "life-sized" with both front & back, the other, an easier to read 400% enlargement. I also sent a color copy of my WI drivers license. Quadruple checked all the forms. I had my envelope weighed and proper postage affixed.

We haven't gotten ours yet because they likely didn't get there until the 3rd day. As they received 10,000 on the 2nd day, and another 6-7K on the 3rd day, and they've done less than 3,000 so far, they simply haven't gotten to us yet... and it could be awhile. I'm thinking it'll be early December. :(

My license was sitting right next to yours over the weekend. #933. When I worked at 1 E Main Str Friday mail pickup was around 2:30-3pm.

If you have been issued a license but not received it. Then respond to a police officer "No I Do not have a CCW" and they run your DL# against the list and it shows a CCW License. How much leeway does the system have for that sort of thing? I understand the chance of that is fairly small but it could possibly happen.

I am not aware that your DL is linked to your CCL. The CCL information is held by the DOJ.

I do not know the mechanism, however, the law allows LEO to check validity of your license even if you don't have it with you so there has to be some look up facility available.

Your right, for some reason I just assumed they would just run your name past the DOJ. I suppose the DOJ could also just keep your DL# too.
