It appears that South Bend has "got it together"!
Maybe it will spread on down to Mississippi.
We're doing ok, but we still have work to do.

Visiting Indy area from Michigan and I saw my firs OCer! He was going into the Dollar Tree in Greenwood around 7:15. Anyone on here?
I have been OC for the better part of a year now here in central Indiana (downtown Indy and all the local suburbs. I have had a few interesting looks, a few compliments on the pistol I choose, and one overzealous security guard that wanted me to cover it up (which I politely refused). Last night was my first truly negative instance. I went out to Steak 'n Shake at about midnight because I had a sweet tooth. While I'm waiting for my shake to be made, this older man sitting in one of the closer tables makes eye contact and signals that he'd like to speak to me. Since I was waiting, I thought "what the hell" and went over to him. He starts off by asking me what department or agency I was with; I answered that I was a private citizen. Then he asked me why I carried my gun open like that and I responded "because I have a license to carry and because I can." He then tells me I need to cover it up and when I refused he went off on how he (a sheriff of supposedly 52 years) could have 4 cop cars outside waiting for me when i walked out the store and even went so far as to say he could confiscate my gun. Staying polite, I informed him that he could not legally do so since all of my actions are within the confines of the law and, at the most, would just inconvenience me a little. I continued on by saying that I don't think that whatever department he worked for would appreciate the obvious waste of time and resources that would take place if he pursued this matter, especially since I had already verified with him that I was a law-abiding citizen (well sort of...he never even asked to see my license). He started saying some other things too but I finally just said "Sir, you do what you feel you need to do and so will I...have a nice night" and walked away. I still walked out of SnS and met no cops
I'm fairly new to this thread so this is a little late but was he a short bald man covered in tattoos? If so that might have been me
Anyone here OC in southern Indiana? More specifically Newburgh area?
I guess there is a little resturaunt in Greenwood that is pro open carry. The boss and a few employees OC while working. If I get that way again, I'm stopping in.
