Finally something negative

I have been OC for the better part of a year now here in central Indiana (downtown Indy and all the local suburbs. I have had a few interesting looks, a few compliments on the pistol I choose, and one overzealous security guard that wanted me to cover it up (which I politely refused). Last night was my first truly negative instance. I went out to Steak 'n Shake at about midnight because I had a sweet tooth. While I'm waiting for my shake to be made, this older man sitting in one of the closer tables makes eye contact and signals that he'd like to speak to me. Since I was waiting, I thought "what the hell" and went over to him. He starts off by asking me what department or agency I was with; I answered that I was a private citizen. Then he asked me why I carried my gun open like that and I responded "because I have a license to carry and because I can." He then tells me I need to cover it up and when I refused he went off on how he (a sheriff of supposedly 52 years) could have 4 cop cars outside waiting for me when i walked out the store and even went so far as to say he could confiscate my gun. Staying polite, I informed him that he could not legally do so since all of my actions are within the confines of the law and, at the most, would just inconvenience me a little. I continued on by saying that I don't think that whatever department he worked for would appreciate the obvious waste of time and resources that would take place if he pursued this matter, especially since I had already verified with him that I was a law-abiding citizen (well sort of...he never even asked to see my license). He started saying some other things too but I finally just said "Sir, you do what you feel you need to do and so will I...have a nice night" and walked away. I still walked out of SnS and met no cops

Coming home from a fire meeting the other night I stopped at the stop sign of the highway I live on. I was on my scoot as its was a nice night. Scoot = motorcycle. Car in front of me was waiting also. I was about 4' behind him. After traffic cleared he sat there. He then puts his car in reverse and moved back about a foot. I was about to shift into N since my clutch hand is also my gun hand. I was open carring. He then slams it in drive and peels out. Told the ol lady that he about got a few .40 rounds into his car if he would have hit me. He was doing it on purpose as I could see his face in his mirror, i was stopped on the drivers side of his car. Closest I've been to pulling it.

I'm fairly new to this thread so this is a little late but was he a short bald man covered in tattoos? If so that might have been me

Hard to tell I was kinda far away. I was happy that I was able to see it. Appeared to be with a wife and two young kids. I was going to Outback when I saw them going in.

Open carried in the Greenwood area tonight with a friend tonight. No problems, issues, or noticed looks. A girl that was with out group said she sees several dads open carry outside of the school where her kids go to school.

I guess there is a little resturaunt in Greenwood that is pro open carry. The boss and a few employees OC while working. If I get that way again, I'm stopping in.

If I'm ever out that way, what is the name of the restaurant?

I OC all the time here in Terre Haute. Have not had any problems, yet.

I had discussion with the Chief of Police and he assured me that even though he would like citizen's to CC, since there is no stipulation to do so that he and his force would enforce the laws "as written, NOT the way we would like it".

So far, he's been a man of his word

OC'd at the coliseum last weekend. Was headed to the gun show. :) 40 on my hip and 380 in the back pocket. Needed a holster for the 380. Had a couple behind me, they were going to the bike show, whisper about them. Then went to Burlington with no problems. Went home and got some movies and stuff at Auto Zone. Guy in at AZ always makes a comment about it, he thinks I'm city PD but he should know better since he works for the County sherriff.

Been OCing and CCing around the Indy area this weekend. OCed at Walmart, Five Guys, and one or two others places I can't remember. Went to go see a movie in Fischers AMC theater but just as I was about to walk in I saw the no weapons allowed sign with a circle and cross through a gun at the bottom of the doors. Told my friends I was with I didn't want to spend my money there and we all left. We're now going to the theater in Greenwood where I doubt there will be any problems.

This may have been addressed in this thread already but it is sorta grey, iffy area. I get that Indiana has a CARRY PERMIT. Doesn't state open or concealed. I'm in Ohio and have "A LICENSE to CARRY a CONCEALED HANDGUN".
Can I carry concealed in Indiana?

Thank You,
William
