What does the Ghetto really have to do with black people? It originated in reference areas where Jews were forced to live, and is still used to refer to neighborhoods of poor social/economic means... but any popularization of the term to be used as slang for a black 'hood is the fault of the various 'thug rappers, etc who glorify it.

Why are my comments personal attacks and his are not? I told him that his comments were racist. I'm not going to accept this "I'm naturally wrong because I'm white" attitude. See, this is why you are a clown. I blame MOST of the problems that "we" have in the ghetto on "us". It's in the second paragraph clown! The original poster wasn't talking about "Ghetto" as in the original term used for Jews he was talking about the modern day ghetto's, meaning blacks/hispanics. And I'm not mad at him at all. I'm just explaining my "take" on things. And yes, I'm well aware of the fact that blacks sold other blacks into slavery. You act like you discovered the wheel!!! Yesterday in a postI described 3 things that were posted here and discussed thoroughly. I mentioned no names, simply used the 3 events as examples for a point I was making.

LW decided that the description was a "personal attack." Then he called it "irrelevant"if not a personal attack so he used "Rule 5" to delete the comment.

He may do the same to you, is all I'm saying. Depends on whatever he thinks is a good definition of "personal attack." So you might consider tone it down with the comments.

The OP made no reference to 'blacks/hispanics' in his post about going to a bad part of town. It's pretty clear by your response that you have a bad attitude, a chip on your shoulder, and are quick to point out that your 'take' on things is an automatic assumption that everyone who recognizes that some areas are more dangerous than others is attributing that to some racial prejudice.

Please, dude... quit the tantrum. The question had nothing to do with Bolsheviks, Jews, Blacks, Hispanics, Christians or otherwise... Also, there is NO ONE on this board that does NOT relate the word ghetto with blacks/hispanics. as a black man who has lived in the "ghetto", "hood" or whatever you wanna call it(north philly) i really had no interest in posting under this subject because ive been in the "ghetto many times unarmed and was never raped, robbed, maimed or murdered.....i didnt see much wrong with the post other than a few generalizations from both sides. but it was nothing for me to be outraged at ,i see worse on tv everyday....everybody take a deep breath, and relaaax

Is it so unthinkable that you could be a racist? Why is that? Because you aren't white? I've been told my entire life how horrible of a person I am and how sorry I should be because of the color of my skin. I have a harder time getting into colleges or getting scholorships, or employement, because of so called equal opportunity laws. I'm kind of tired of people instantly painting me with a racist brush just because I'm white. My ancestors were poor and they didn't own any of your ancestors, so no, I'm not sorry.

But you say "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quack likes a duck then I call it a duck". That's the same reasoning people use to profile people based on race, class, religion or sex. This line of thinking is the key to racism.

If I were to insinuate that all black people were criminals just because enough of them dress like 50 cent, who claims to be a criminal, I would be wrong and I would be profiling. I would be doing it because "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quack likes a duck then I call it a duck".

Unfortunately, I don't really know you*, so I have to go on what you post...(*though I would be very open to that, to better under stand where you're coming from)

And you are wrong... 'Ghetto' is a reference to a bad neighborhood. What each person considers a bad neighborhood is based on their own life-experiences, and what is fed to them through any media which uses that term. Noone has any pre-conceived notion that race is directly linked to crime (though there are some who do take relevant statistics as a guage of potential, to one extreme or the other... it is universally understood that noone is borna criminal, however).

So, yes, your responses are blatantly racist.

It's all good OpenRyan! If Expo came to my house he'd probably be shocked to find out that I'm "Whiter" than him! And the guys I mentioned, well three of them were assasinated by "the liberals". "They" tried killing Andrew Jackson but the gun mis-fired.
