I didn't have class today, but I have at least one buddy in lockdown on campus. This buddy is pissed he has been left defenseless. I would be too.

Personally, I think the school should be sued. This is far from the ideal case, however. And god forbid an ideal one ever comes along again.

I read the other day VT is still trying to stop the lawsuits from 07.

Leave it to the OCDO "shock troops" to be on top of a story before the MSM.

Anyone have the definition of irony?

Citizen Journalism.

With technology we can instantly report the news.

Film it, photo it, record it. Post it.

And drive the fascists of Homeland Security absolutely insane.

Larry Hincker has to go! He is snapping at reporters left and right, and he got real pissy when asked about being in Washington today to appeal the school's fine under the Clery Act for the '07 response.

Seems ANTI Lori Haas is already out there on CBS6 talking about how this just shows the gun show loophole should be closed. And of course Massengill did the same.

Never too early for them to try and score political points.

I tried to find it, couldn't. I did find this: http://hamptonroads.com/2011/12/campus-police-officer-2nd-person-killed-virginia-tech

“I’m sitting in my car double parked about two or three blocks from the hearing, sitting here crying,” said Haas, whose daughter was shot during the campus tragedy four years ago."

"A gun control crusader, Haas said the notion that the easy availability of guns means we live in a safer place is idiotic."

Why do I carry?

Because Lori Haas is never around when I need her to jump in front of me and flash her bullet proof sign (which also produces an all campus encompassing bullet repellant force field) that reads "No Guns On Campus" and state authoritatively that there is absolutely no reason for anyone to have a loaded gun on campus, because this is one of the safest places in the country, thereby saving us all. And so now, let the kumbayas commence, "Oh Lo--rd, Lo--ri Haas".

I heard that an innocent third party shot the gunman in the VT parking lot. Can anyone confirm this? Maybe an armed citizen?

Edit - Wait, nevermind, they said a third party shot the Police Officer (rather than the person involved in the traffic stop). Now I'm confused.

Let no tragedy go unexploited. The WWW* dances on the bodies of the victims.
IMO - totally shameful.

I had spoken with officer Foust at the VA Tech protest and asked about lockdown. He mentioned that it is illusory. He said it was a college campus and they cannot 'lock down' the campus. The 'adults' don't have to listen to them and cannot be held prisoner against their will, although they would strongly suggest (blue talk for order without authority) they remain in or out of the bldg.

I wonder.

I haven't heard anything like that yet, and the State Police are surely not confirming anything like that at all at this time.

The State Police seemed to hint that the second unidentified dead man may have been the gunman. From: http://abcnews.go.com/US/virginia-t...ad-lock-lifted/story?id=15114257#.TuFOWYQmSSp

Police declined to say outright that the second shooting victim was the gunman, but said "no additional victims or shooting reports have given to the police" since the second person was shot.

"I think the investigators feel confident that we've located the person, but I don't want to give you specifics," Virginia State Police Sgt. Robert Carpentieri said at a news conference. "You can kind of read between the lines."

I also heard from students on campus about the huge police response, my friend saw DEA and ATF agents, campus, state and local police all over the place. The order without authority matches what they have told me about being on "lockdown", they where instructed to stay inside and students where under the impression they where not allowed to leave.
