• We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :) Please help by posting all issues here.

I plan to support Tapatalk ... I need to install the server side piece which I will try to do this weekend.

The only downside is the app costs about $3. The pro's are that it is a GREAT app and runs on all the major smartphones (iPhone, Android & BBerry).

Looks good, John. There WILL be suggestions/complaints/confusion, but it should all work out once everyone gets more familiar with the layout.

I've already gone through and set my options and profile info (the defaults here are are quite different than what I run on my sites), and it all seems to work right.

To the person above with the blackberry, I'm running Tapatalk (http://www.tapatalk.com/) on my sites and it works very well, and covers a number of mobile devices.

Belay that comment ... I just saw Curtis' post about the Glocktalk forum's issues. Until I investigate that, I will be holding off on Tapatalk. I will let you know what I find.

Looking good.

My indices seem to be defaulting to alphabetical order rather than descending chronological order. I can't seem to find a general setting for this. Each index has its own sort option at the bottom, but it keeps going back to the default of alphabetical.

I will work on offering multiple skins that are user selectable.

This skin is a blue / grey highlights over a white background.

What combos would you guys like?

This cool John!

Please allow me to be the first to complain that the color scheme hurts my eyes...

I updated all of the forums to sort in descending order by latest post.

God I love this software. :)

I have moderated on 2 vB forums, 1 of which I still moderate as part of my full time job. I had a little experience with Simple Machines Forums at another forum, and vB was far superior, so I imagine going from WowBB to vB is like upgrading from a Cobalt to a Corvette. :p

I love how I can hover over the thread topics for a couple of seconds and read the first couple of sentences with out opening the thread. And now we can have signatures. Hopefully this won't get abused by putting large pics in them.
TY and keep up the great work.

I agree that the hover option is nice... is it possible to see a little more of of the thread title on the main forum page automatically though? Seems like that column of the page doesn't get it's fair share of the room, compared to the column with the state names in it, in my opinion.

I am going out of my way to ONLY use vBulletin standard features so that I can seamlessly drop in updates. So this must be a V4 change (I don't know for sure because this is the first vBulletin board I have had).

Is it the same as the Profile or Settings option that is on the top right of every page?

I'm used to a User CP link at the top of every page on other vBulletin boards I use. Did it get replaced in v4? What is the equivalent?

It is. And more importantly, they have support that responds QUICKLY to questions and support issues. :)

Thanks. It sounds like making changes such as that is simpler than on the old forum.

Questions:
1:Is there an "autosize" for avatars and pictures? I had to resize my avatar in my photo editor program.
2:I posted a new thread. My name shows in the "last post by" column. When I put my arrow on my name in that column, it says I am offline when I am logged in.

Ask and ye shall receive. The entire title now displays. :)

1. Unfortunately, there is no autosize.
2. The forum will auto-log you off if you are inactive for 1 hour. Click 'Remember Me' when you login to avoid having to repeatedly login. I suspect the issue lies in the area of cookies but we will have to test more to be sure. When I hover on you, it says online.
