That is a lie.

I don’t have the statistics before me, but I recall reading on Rick Ector’s facebook page many months ago where he had the statistics broken down in percentages for victims who don’t fight back compared with those who do; it was found that those who complied with their attackers had the highest percentage or likelihood of being harmed.

Thus, what Walgreens really means is that "Compliance is cheaper or more economical than confrontation."

Throughout History the cheapest commodity has been human life. And profit has been more important than human life.

Nothing has changed since the beginning of time when many folks used, and I mean used and abused slaves in order to make a profit, and many companies use and abuse their employees in order to make, and protect, their profits.

And just like many slave owners all through History (let us not forget that the dust up in the U.S. over slavery was a recent iteration of the ages old problem of using humans for profit) many corporations will sacrifice their employees before giving up a nickel of profit.

Fire an employee who saved the lives of fellow employees? Have policies of no guns and insist on complying with the criminal's demands leaving your employees at the mercy of a criminal and maybe they get killed?

Well hell.... why take a chance of losing any profit since there is another dude waiting to be hired standing right outside the door.

People are replaceable but a sale, or a lawsuit, lost is a dollar not in the till.

You fired the pharmacist who was responsible for saving lives and restoring the peace by exercising his right to both keep and to bear arms. This is a sickening display of cowardice. There is no risk of liability due to the castle doctrine laws that are in place. I wont be doing business with you any longer.

a few years ago(well,more than a few) women were told to just comply with criminals wishes and desires to avoid getting hurt,rapes skyrocketed.

when women started fighting back again,rapes went back down.

my point? often,confrontation is safer for the victim(s) than compliance,and id rather risk being shot or stabbed because i shot or stabbed a rapist that was trying to rape me and could have shot or stabbed me anyways,at least i know id probably not get raped and the rapist wouldnt be doing it anymore.

confrontation is often better than compliance!

This is news to me. Federal OSHA regulations forbid employers letting employees carry guns with them in the workplace.

I had never heard that before. So it's illegal to CC at work even if your company doesn't explicitly have a policy against it? Or, to put it in words from the article, it's illegal for your company to NOT have a policy prohibiting CC at work?
