As usual, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Great to see some familiar faces as well as meet some new ones.

We live about 20 minutes from the park, so we didn't have to fight any traffic.

We weren't responsible for the single gunshot that occurred while we were there; It was the starter's pistol to kick off the 5K race next door.

HA! I never even thought of that....Good thing no one called the cops about shots fired.....I wonder where the first responders would have started their investigation?

HAHAAHA LOL!~!! you got off easy!!!!!!!!!! I SAT IN TRAFFIC 4 HOURS ! @_@ I also ran into some guys from the picnic in traffic. :D 4 hours spent on Jeff Ave to the tunnel (monitor merrimac) then it all moved out. From the Shell station to the on ramp south 664 was 40mins...... only 0.6 miles

Yeah, I counted that same wait. Total time was basically 2 - 5:30 to get home to Portsmouth.

it was great to have a nice day at the park with like-minded americans.
i'm sure i'll forget the names/faces by the next picnic. maybe some "Hi, my name is ____" stickers would be helpful to put screen names to actual people.

I thought about that too and wondered if the GSL stickers might be modified with a blank line at the bottom for those who wish to write their names.

I actually bought and carry "Hi, my name is...." stickers with me all of the time. Tried them in the past and they were only mildly accepted. Maybe we'll try to re-initiate the practice next time.

I like them too as they help my poor memory for relating real first names, screen names, and faces
