And yes, we could easily have won the day. But we are not fighting for the day. We are fighting for the end.

Nemo
That would have been the end.

Just like Bundy ranch . Cases thrown out, cattle still grazing.
Gov is a bully. Once the bully is stood up too he hunts weaker prey to pick on.

You are absolutely right Nemo except this VCDL Lobby day social event has been going on for how many years?

partially/fully failing at your publicized activity after so many years is in no way better than doing nothing...

Short story-- last year we were able to get 44 out of 45 gun control bills killed. The other one died in the financial analysis review.

squawking about how others did not do enough ~ i guess you are not familiar with process/change engineers [six sigma/lean activities] or quality professionals and their purpose in manufacturing/project management to assure events/projects/etc meet repeatable & established criteria thus assuring "customers/organizational/ad nauseam" needs are met within established ROI guidelines. these folks get payed big $$$ as the save organizational monies, assure contractional obligations are met!

No, I don't do engineer stuff. I do political stuff that gets things done.

your function in the Lobby activity?

Planner, organizer, team leader, lobbyist

Nemo, what right do you believe gives you this presumption to ask ~ publicly, then continue to demand a response about my advocacy activities? My activities have been and will continue to be private and personally achieved known only to those close cohorts who have a need to know.

therefore, i will not facilitate nor entertain any further nonsensical commentary about the subject so please cease as your self-fulling my pappy's adage!

Once again, I ask to see if you are anything more than the guy who sits on the sideline griping about how inadequate the results from those that are doing something.

And again, you confirm it.

nemo, last year is the memories of the past and if someone like myself or you yourself provided the candid material from the insider individual who pointed out items this outsider had no knowledge of, is pointing out inadequacies in results means sir you didn't get things done this year, e.g., red flag legislation as a prime example!

but you're nemo right keep ignoring constructive commentary of what you could do better and instead keep the tried and true mantra alive..."we've always done it this way!"

PS: NRA-ILA email dtd 27 Jan 2020, quote:
Despite the peaceful, orderly, and diverse gun rights protest that attracted tens of thousands of law-abiding gun owners to the state capitol, Virginia's Michael Bloomberg-bought General Assembly has continued to push forward a radical anti-gun agenda.

Ya Nemo...banner year of getting things done...huh!

Yes they are still working on the other side and we are still working on the good side. The battle continues and we know some will be lost, some will be won. The ones we lose will be brought back and fought on other fields.

And we will still be following/fighting the law as far as possible until we get it changed by proper methods.

Can we win them all? Only if you share your vast knowledge of the means, methods and intracies of lobbying and legislating. Until then we will continue in our fight.

sorry nemo i have been sharing invaluable tidbits based on tried and true business tactics used around the world, however the major one, acknowledging the inadequacies so organizationally the causation can be collectively determined, so the inadequacies can be mitigated appropriately, is falling on deaf ears cuz your ego kicked in the defenses of "we succeeded" & "how dare you criticize..." thus injecting extreme bias and eliminating any true, reality-based analyzation of the event.

bottom line nemo...you're not accepting the message this sender has put out there ~ numerous times!

a perfect example is your banter towards me that i don't know anything, do anything, therefore i have no right to criticize, prove it to me, etc., shows me unless you stick your hand in the wound, you won't believe...and no matter what i would have told you, you wouldn't believe ~ so the topic is therefore not germane whatsoever now is it nemo as it only serves to bolster your one-up-manship ego!

As solus said, that is old news. What you seem to refuse to understand is when you had the opportunity to enforce the second amendment you (collectively) folded. You had the nation come to your defense and you failed to take advantage of that rare moment. Signs everywhere proclaiming "WE WILL NOT COMPLY" and everyone there complied. A civil war was fought to end slavery and in the end you accepted slavery with open arms.

I'm sorry, but you guys have just made the fight for the secondment harder. Your inaction set us back. We have met the enemy, and they are us.

Keep up the pressure on the elected state reps that are vulnerable to being ousted as a immediate consequence of anti-individual liberty voting habits...good luck Virginia.

...perhaps, but recalls are extremely difficult in a district that has elected a liberal...work to persuade voters to vote for individual liberty and not tyranny.

WIN!! Big anti-gun bill killed in committee for the year. Pushed back to next year for study.

Nemo

W I N

let's see nemo how did your cite characterize the vote...oh ya...quote:

Senators voted to shelve the bill for the year and ask the state crime commission to study the issue, an outcome that drew cheers from a committee room packed with gun advocates. unquote

everyone in that committee room should have been furious at the obfuscation of the original concept...the VA GA will have the 'bloomie' crime commission "bless" the concept, next year the VCDL against the executive branch gaggle circle exercise and herding of cats begins anew, and GA says see we waited and commission says its valid ~ passed, Gov signs and they didn't even buy lunch or use any "protection" on VA citizens.

W O N

what on earth did you win?

We held the field in the big one but smaller skirmishes are still occurring.

Gun bills are going to be heard in the House Firearms subcommittee on Tuesday, February 18, at 8:30 am in the Room 300-A Subcommittee Room in the General Assembly building at 900 East Main St. in Richmond.

Bills being heard:

SB 71 - This is an extremely bad bill that will make churches and synagogues which have daycare or preschool classes into gun-free zones! This would hit synagogues particularly hard. VCDL strongly opposes this bill.

SB 173 - This bill allows someone with a CHP to have a stun weapon in their vehicle while on school property. VCDL strongly supports this bill.

SB 436 - creates a “Virginia Voluntary Do Not Sell List,” where a person can voluntarily have their name added and, later, removed if desired. A person on the list cannot purchase a firearm, under penalty of a misdemeanor if they try. What this bill actually accomplishes is a mystery, but a person could maliciously put another person on the list. The penalty for doing so, if caught, is a misdemeanor. VCDL opposes this bill.

Action Item: Click here to tell your Delegate to OPPOSE SB 71.

Unless I'm mistaken you have now a universal background check law including private sales. And a red flag law.

The AWB if passed would have fell to legal challenge as ar15 ak47 are in common use as stated in Heller.

The AWB wasnt the big one to win. UBC and Red Flag were.

sorry..the bloody VCDL alert listed three [3] pieces of legislation yet the click the "action" hyperlink at the bottom of the alert only sets the reader to only send their delegate notice about one piece of legislative nonsense.

and did these get scheduled this morning on the subcommittee's docket...or is the member delinquent in timely notification to forum members?

There are several still under consideration but none put to final votes yet. I don't consider pushing off an assault weapon ban, ban of anything capable of holding a magazine over 12 rounds crumbs. Yes the battle will continue but that;s politics.

I don't consider being forced to surrender a rifle or become a felon a breadcrumb. Being required to do paperwork on a purchase or risk a red flag during litigation is better than being a felon.

OH, and what have either of you 2 done for gun rights today?

You 2 gents sure seem to be acting like simple idiots. Or kings whose intelligence is questioned.
