I was hoping to meet you in person this summer since I'm always glad to meet other armed Law-Abiding Citizens, but the manner in which you handled yourself on this PUBLIC forum has dispelled any desire to make your acquaintance, for the time being. I'm not sure if you're mature enough to handle the RESPONSIBILITY of carrying, but it is your Right nonetheless.

Still, your lack of maturity and penchant for swearing and including childish taunts in your replies reminds me of a thread some years back of a teen who admitted to a straw purchase, then proceeded to attack the members who pointed out his disregard for the law; the kid also made the claim that members reacted in kind because they were jealous of his new $300 shotgun.

didn't ask for your opinion and I know for a fact that no one here who carries their fire arm daily is going to leave their gun at home while passing through a reservation on their way to go somewhere else where it is legal to carry so go somewhere else with your ignorant opinions because I will bet a good amount of money that you drink a beer or whiskey from time to time and no one is going to give you crap about it as long as your not drunk when you carry and the same should be said of marijuana but regardless I didn't ask your opinion on wether or not I should carry a firearm or be aloud to what I do in the privacy of my home is my business

Your rude reply after receiving the slightest criticism is telling of the manner in which you handle yourself in your daily routine.

When did I ever say I carry illegally? NEVER and you saying you can safely infer I carry when high is the same as me saying you carry when you get drunk so shut up your no longer welcome here in this discussion which should of been obvious so now you're just talking to yourself..

See above. Do keep in mind that this is a PUBLIC forum, open for viewing to the general PUBLIC as well as the members.

Ive already replaced my stolen property and am probably much more responsible when handling fire arms then you..

Im 18 years old with my associates degree and a job that pays 54k a year with full benefits so I think Ill just continue to get high with my cousin while I finger f*** my new XDm 3.8 Compact .40.. Ignorant Ill Informed Idiot..

Taunt for the first bolded part. At the very least you should consider taking a course on meditation or the like. Someone suggested anger management.

The second part: equating money with being above the law, and bringing your age back into your reply as a means of somehow validating your implicit claim to superiority, followed by a sexual remark and name-calling; very reminiscent of a pubescent middle school or high school student.

SNIP...You are an idiot this technology is in place and has been for some time now I never said I believed him when he said he had one in his ****** police station because i didn't but wether or not I believed him at the time didn't matter.. now who looks stupid?

I'd answer your question but I'm sure you wouldn't like it and would probably attribute it to jealousy.

Isnt it funny how your opinion doesn't matter to anyone anywhere and has no effect on what I do? like I said I don't care what you have to say think or feel so take it somewhere else..

Matter of fact none of you have provided me the answer in which I came here to ask so I think ill go somewhere else where people are better informed and less likely to be the offspring of the copulation of brother and sister..

The first part sounds just like the favorite replies of a high school freshman, and the latter is a blatantly ignorant statement. Oh, the irony.

Ill never get either of you to see your own ignorance n im already tired of having a conversation with people whom I don't even care to think exist..

Language of a (high school) freshman. I think you've demonstrated what kind of person you are and how you behave while carrying.

Personally, I wouldn't want you associated with armed LACs, so please try to avoid any media that may try using you as an example of what armed LACs look/behave like. Please avoid tarnishing the image of armed LACs, an image which has taken years to get to this point and is nowhere near satisfactory yet.
That said, I still believe you have a Right to defend yourself; maturity should not be a prerequisite.

It is obvious from your statements that no one's opinion matters to you unless it supports your illegal activities.

As for you having an Associate's degree ... please do NOT name the community college you attended; I am certain they would be embarrassed by your lack of writing "skills." That is, if you even actually have an AA. Eighteen is the normal age for high school graduation and it would have typically taken two years at a CC to obtain an AA. You must be one of those "prodigies."

Good luck on finding a forum where "people are better informed" about gun issues.

Thanks for playing, and don't let the door hit you in the a$$ when you leave.

I attended community college at the same time as high school due to a WA state dual enrollment program, I didn't get an AA, but I could have gotten one simultaniously (I know I spelled that wrong) with my diploma if I took my courses smarter.... it's not out of the question.

I find it unlikely he's making 54K a year on an AA. is it impossible? no. but unlikely given his current state of maturity on here.

yes, move to a state like Montana or Washington where none of the tribes really care if you're carrying unless you're in a casino...

Actually, you could make friendly with one of the locals. It seems to be okay at that point, though you might still need to carry without one in the chamber.
Of course, this is hear-say from a Diné (Navajo People) member of an Arizona forum and other members who took him up on his offer to shoot on his land.

Don't you mean "unpossible"?:p

OP admits to breaking the law, then wants advice from those that are law abiding on a 2A site. My troll air detector is going off big time!

I also believe that your firearm is gone, and deservedly so.

You knew that it was illegal to carry a firearm on a reservation, but you simply ignored the law, believing that you would not get caught.

You are a self-admitted marijuana user based on the officer's testing and your statements that you were "in fact not under the influence at the time" which suggests that you do get high, but didn't happen to be under the influence at that time.

It may sound harsh, but I don't believe you should be carrying a firearm. Your disregard for the law and your propensity to use mind-altering drugs does not add to what law-abiding gun carriers are trying to achieve: the general population's acceptance and normalization of firearms carry as a right. Every example of someone carrying who disregards the law diminishes our success.

I think the idea was to get the OCDO community to come to his defense, making the community look bad.

As usual it backfired.

If wonderboy is making 54K a year with his community college education then why doesn't he hire a competent lawyer to get his gun back instead of bellyaching to people on the internet about it? I agree with you, this guy is trying to make us look bad, probably a troll.

Thank you all!!!

I just wanted to say thanks to all the OCDO members who stood up against this troll. I knew what I had said was right and that the OP should be nowhere near a firearm. I just hope he never claims to be a member of this site as he in no way represents what we stand for. Have a great weekend guys and make sure to post your OC experiences as well, there is a sticky for it!

A couple of things need to be clarified.

Different tribes have different laws, for example the Colorado Indian Reservation says you can transport a firearm in your car but can not carry it on your person without a permit form the Tribal Counsel. Ft McDowell you can carry openly but not concealed. Gila River no carry, locked in the trunk may be OK maybe not their law is vague. There are about 12 different reservations in AZ all have slightly different rules.

It is my understanding that non tribal members can not be prosecuted under tribal law, how ever they can trespass you and confiscate your property such as your pistol. If they are cross deputized they can and will arrest you for violating AZ state law just like any other certified peace officer can and will. If they are not cross deputized they can and will hold you for a Sheriffs officer and trespass you officially if they want to.

The OP was not simply passing through a reservation something happened to cause them to find the firearm or he was openly carrying it without permission from the tribal counsel.

If this is true his firearm is history unless he can talk the tribal counsel into giving it back, I doubt it, I would not if I were them.

When you are on tribal land act like you are on private property because you are, it is their land.

If you are respectful and ask nice you may even be granted a permit for tribal property especially if you know a tribal member.

All in all I also think this is bogus.

Private Property?

Isn't tribal land a Sovereign Nation? I thought it was like leaving the U.S. Am I wrong?

Fred

Yes and no. Reservations are Federal Land, but the Nations are somewhat sovereign. Because they are federal they are exempt from most state laws in which they are located.

You are correct but it is not that simple.

It is a Sovereign Nation that is subject to federal laws, the tribes can make their own laws for tribal members on tribal property. Federal law applies to non tribal members and tribal members. State law applies on some reservations to non tribal members.

In this case the tribe can not prosecute a non tribal member for carrying the firearm. The tribe can take the firearm and the only way to get it back would be to go to Federal court and get an order to return the firearm. If you get the order to return the firearm then you would need a way to enforce that order, good luck with that.

Yup they are only as sovereign as the federal government allows them to be. FBI still has jurisdiction. If they were really sovereign they could prosecute non tribal persons just like any other country outside the united states can.

Send the FBI to Russia and see the difference between Russia and the Nations.

You don't sound very responsible when it comes to discussing and debating, in that you turn to personal attacks, "puffing out your chest" to seem tough, and name calling.

This sounds like typical 12-20 year old "I know everything" tantrum ranting.

Plus the inconsistent use of spell check and punctuation.

Which makes me think

1.) You're trolling

2.) You're not responsible enough for firearms ownership

This type of ignorance of laws and illegal substance abuse, and "acting tough" is more child-like and does nothing to help the OC cause.

I find it incredulous after almost 70 posts of name calling and rants back and forth, only one august forum member provided the OP any pertinent insight.

truly a very sad commentary and a teaching moment lost for the OP and it is a pity as the opportunity was there for us to provide a young adult appropriate guidance on numerous venues yet forum membership felt the unexplained need to chastise the poster from the git-go and put them on the defensive immediately which exacerbated the tenor of the conversation.

good job everyone!

His question was answered soon into the thread and a personal opinion was given with the answer. The OP responded with hostilities and similar such responses, insinuating the fact he was immature and/or trolling.

He did not come here to be "taught", he came for simple validation for his illegal carrying activity (ignorance of laws).

The OP also did not just go on the "defensive" once an opinion was given, he began attacking other members for disagreeing with his activities (i.e carrying illegally and his illegal drug use).

That being said, I do believe this thread should be locked.
