you can rest assured that they will not, it hasn't even entered their minds. Fairness does not equate to justice, and whatcha you wanna bet their definition of justice, your definition of justice, and what you have to fight to get are three completely different animals. These people are used to having their way, justice, fairness, or what ever you think you're entitled to be damned. They don't like it when you don't cower and beg for mercy, they prefer that you submit and keep feeding their process and moving it along. It's not about serving the public, it's about them serving themselves while you pick up the tab. They love making rules as long as none of them have to follow them, and they get particularly offended when you even intimate that they are also bound by rules. When you read about magistrates pre-signing warrants, cops "testilying", and any number of abuses of power, do you really think they care about rights or constitutions or oaths? If you do, then I think you've got your own "fairy tale" to deal with.

Ah, no....I didn't suggest that at all. I was simply adding to an above comment about that process and I answered based on what the process is based on its application in VA BH. No "fairy tails" for me thank you.

Yeah, I really didn't think so, drdan01...,

sorry if it sounded like I was pounding on you. There is a lot more of this tale to come and it's infuriating to say the least. We pretty much know how things are supposed to be done, there's a lot of sense on this board, but I'm really starting to see this as a "cold war" type of setting. I just deleted what i just wrote because I know people are looking and it could be taken wrong, but i'll be saying it at the next meeting I'm at. I apologize drdan01, absolutely no offense intended, I'm way past the process moment and at the screaming bloody murder point right now and I haven't been getting my rest.

From a board that is quietly - as in still too shocked to be able to utter expletives that would need deleting - following this:

!No parasan!

As goulish as it may sound, the Boston Mrathon Massacre aftermath (cops ridinng roughshod over the 4th Amendment) may be working to our advantage. Folks are outraged but do not know where/what to focus their outrage on that might actually "fix" things. Here is an outrage just crying out to be fixed and a path to be followed to accomplish the fixing.

Am I a bad person for suggesting we dance in the - no, nevermind. The cops in Boston and this cop in Henrico did not put blood in the streets, and what they did lay down ever so thickly is not something I'd want to dance in, even wearing a hazmat suit and closed-circuit respirator gear.

stay safe.

Welcome to OCDO. I'll add the usual stuff about joining VCDL and coming to the OC Breakfasts later.

On behalf of scouser (who has not authorized me to say it but that has never stopped me before) - and on behalf of justice - Thank you.

stay safe.

You could get broader support if this were posted in a more general area. Post a PayPal link in the General Forum, and I will click it! So will many others.

If you won't click on it in the Va forum, why the hell are you here?

Hoping to motivate the folks here to seek broader support.

But if you all want to keep this a VA thing, that's OK.

I suspect someone will post a link in General Discussion and/or Hot Topics fairly soon. It's not my place to do so, but I suspect those whose place it is have been a bit busy, and just haven't thought of it yet.

I don't think we'd want the thread moved, but just a summary introduction perhaps with the Paypal link and snail-mail address for checks, and a pointer to this thread with all the details.

I tried to get the written complaint from the court and it doesn't appear to exist.
Imagine that... I wonder if it will eventually turn up (having been written after several FOIA requests are received).

I want to say thank you for the support already being shown or promised in the future. I can't begin to tell you all how much having the support of this community means to me
Some of us understand. BTDT.
Hang in there. We can't take on the stress they're putting you through, but people here will help with legal & other fees, will speak out & confirm that you were badly treated, and will listen when you need to vent.

Having a MAJOR problem getting the Paypal "Donate" button to work/activate.

I've done this type of thing before and have never had this occur. The button just sits there and looks at me, doesn't connect.

I went the alternate way using the special email link - it gets me there fine, but also shows my Profile/personal information. :banghead: :banghead:

For tonight, I quit. Will try and correct in the morning.

And yes, I will be cross posting to General Discussion.

Shhh- inside info

Pick up a little tidbit yesterday - wish I could remember where I got it :)

It seems that Henrico officers are offered off-duty moonlighting jobs based on their rank and time in grade with the better jobs going to those that have accumulated the most status points. Well you say, nothing too strange there.

Ahh, but I'm told that those "sweet plums" are not assigned by anyone in the Henrico PD but by some party (unnamed here) elsewhere in the county bureaucracy.........the Good Old Boy system is alive and well.

Now it seems to me that if you want to keep on the good side of your godfather/benefactor you might look to selectively enforce some of the laws. Maybe even tighten up on "those people" that dare to carry guns. Possible? I think so maybe - at least it strongly hints that someone other than law enforcement might be pulling the puppet's strings.

It also seems that the officer responsible for this most recent travesty has a number of similar positions - have to wonder whether he is maybe working them simultaneously - maximizing the return on his time by charging more than one employer for the "same clocked" in time. If so that wouldn't seem ethical, maybe even illegal.

The deeper we dig into this chapter of the Ferry Tale, the less potable the water :uhoh:

PS - just had a thought. Wouldn't it be something if the person assigning this "extra curricular duty" were found to be sharing in the monetary benefits derived

May be time to take out a full page ad in the local paper to encourage others to join OCDO and report their ferry tales.

We can start looking for trends in abuse, specifically "deals" and "nolle prosequis."

If there is one person like scouser, there are others. We must find them and have them join the fold.

There are but by and large, we've ironed the bumps out of Henrico. There are very few problems anymore and we were testing it last night. No issues at all with one of our members very openly carrying in front of off duty Henrico Officers working security.

This goes a little deeper and the problems seem to be with just a few officers now.

The comment I got about Officer X was...."X works all over the place, he's a machine!"

It would be interesting to see what kind of benefits are derived. Only then would we be able to focus a civil suit against said individual and attempt to separate that money from his/her grubby hands.

The term "Respondeat Superior" comes to mind...:)

<cynicism><sarcasm>This news of "moonlighting" and with lots of folks eager to help with scouser's defense I had the thought... Perhaps it would be more efficient for the OCDO community to just direct funding toward those who bask in the light of the moon? </sarcasm></cynicism>
