REMEMBER!!! When you park it is possibly/probobly in a school zone. I believe you must carry your firearm encased and unloaded until you are on the private property (Mr.Gregs) then you may holster up.

That sound right Mr. Greg?

Still working on it. Long story, but to sum it up, you'd think people who want my business would try to get service documents to me.

Has there been any word if any press will be there?
Ms. Hernandez plans to attend, and will be conducting interviews and such for her paper, but I have not contacted any local media as of yet. Will do that a few days before.

Correct, and I noted this in the first post, which is a required read for anyone planning to attend the picnic.

Well, I'm home now, made the 10 hour drive yesterday. Unfortunately, I was an hour late to miss yesterday's events...

A Greenfield Police Officer showed up at the door when I had just passed Madison and left a letter stating they are aware of the picnic, and that it "should not attract" their attention, unless it "causes fear and disorder" in the neighborhood. They also cited Wisconsin state statues pertaining to firearms.

There was no mention of Greenfield ordinances, nor any threat if we should continue with the picnic plans, just the note that if the picnic "causes fear or disorder," they will respond. Of course, if such a response occurs, we will politely remind Police that our carrying is perfectly lawful, and that we have the right to carry openly on private property. Obviously, neighbors being offended by us exercising a lawful activity does not make our lawful activity disorderly.

I'll have the copies of the letter out for everyone to see next Monday.

And that's fine - as long as the police know that the mere cause of fear and disorder is not necessarily "disorderly conduct" nor any other crime.

:shock:Fear and disorder:shock:!! LMAO

So if I decided tothrow a halloweenparty in greenfield, fear and disorder would have to be the theme of the party, or the name of the band playing. I wonder if they would bother me if nobody had guns with them?

Back in my younger/wilder years, I had contact with many suburban police due to my behavior that brdered on being legal, and it was a toss up on which department was worse, with the main players being Greenfield or West Allis. New Berlin and Waukesha had it's annoyance officers, but Greenfield just seemed to havemore sadistic pricks on their force than ony other in the area.

I still think thats bullsh*t. If I think that people with hats on are scary, thus creating fear and panic does that mean that if your wearing a hat I can call the police and say they should be arrested? That is creating a disturbance to me, so people with hats on should have to put them in thier trunks and should not be able to wear them within 1000 feet of a school.

It's as if the First Amendment doesn't apply in Greenfield unless those around you are fine with it, let alone the Second.

My neighbors mostly keep to themselves, though, and we don't talk to them much in kind. I doubt that one of them will call in a panic report of "Men with Guns eating Hot Dogs" to GPD.

Even so, like bigdaddy1 said, it's no different from me calling GPD and complaining that the neighbor is wearing a hat that I find offensive.

Heck, in any case, I should call in the neighbors for driving their cars around the neighborhood. Statistically speaking, they're more likely to harm me with their cars than me them with my firearms.

I've always had better luck with my neighbors when I let them in on any plans I had that may "surprise" them, ask for their support and then invite them over. Better they find out ahead of time from you, rather than looking out their window and seeing a bunch of strangers with guns.... 30 years ago when I was closer to your age I didn't care about the niceties of neighbor relations and I ran into a few problems with them. Just saying....

I want to see some pictures/video of this event! Make it so, No. 1!

I was thinking of attending myself, but the holidays make it hard to fly standby..

I am an Aircraft Mechanic for a major airline, and can fly there.. BUT... the flights everywhere are packed....

Anyhow.. have fun, and post some pics!!

Hello, The cops i talked to in Muskego Just this week told me that if you are doing nothing wrong you will be fine. He also said just know where guns are not allowed. So that sounds encouraging. The cop i talked to is also a good friend.

And also could someone tell me how to get to the picnic?

I am such a Johnny-come-lately that I am ALMOST too embarassed to ask, but will anyway: are you still accepting RSVPs?

I have a family of five and a couple that I have mentioned this too that are interested.

What do you need us to bring? Potato salad, hot dogs & buns, chips, drinks, desserts - whatever!
