The public has moved on. The media has moved on. I don't doubt that Maplewood will pass a ban, but the legislature isn't going to take any more or less heat due to this incident if they preempt.
If all it took was one incident that resulted in no charges or claims of laws broken to blow up the whole thing, it seems the support was pretty weak.
The City of Maplewood casts their second and deciding vote April 12th at the City Council meeting. I am going there to speak against this. I don't know of any OC person doing the same. Some say they can't speak in public, I have and I do. Some have concerns for their job, I understand. If no one speaks against, they will pass it for sure,, and they probably will. It is my guess the "media" wil be there. It's one of those kind of things. Some will probably speak if the media does not show, I understand that. If we can open carry in public, sure as heck we better be prepared to speak to defend our rights! If you do speak, dress well, be polite. They have nothing but negatives so far and getting intheir face, protesting or generally getting them PO'd will not help the cause. I've been asked by Fox 2 St. Louis to do an on camera interview. This I will NOT do. It serves no purpose and I don't care to be ambushed by soem slime reporter who just wants to distort things and put sensational material on the tube.
we are doing damage control, not more damage. I have avery 'nice " presentation i hope I can get through in the 3 minutes allowed.
The meeting is at the maplewood City hall, April 12th @ 7:30PM. 7601 Manchester Rd.
If you can make a positive infulence, please coem out and share your opinion. If you can't present something positive at least show up and be part of the crowd that supports our 2A rights. Again. I fully expect them to pass the anti-OC bill in Maplewood.
