We are planning an open carry picnic at Phoenix Park in the City of Delavan on 6/17 from noon-3:00 pm.

We know it's Father's Day.

It is basically a pot-luck. Bring something to pass and anything you want to drink.

There is a big celebration that whole weekend and there is a band at 3:00 pm in the Phoenix band shell.

Please post in this thread if you are coming and what you are bringing to eat.

Here is the Facebook event. https://www.facebook.com/events/277196925711927/

I shall come or not come then. It's logically perfect and covers my choices. BETTER?

Let's not forget about this!

Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2

It is on our calendar and we will be there. We are bringing a propane fired portable grill and our small charcoal grill. We will bring a few different meats for grilling and some other vegetable dishes.

Don't forget folks to bring your own paper plates, drinks, napkins, plastic ware...etc...also IIRC there isn't a whole lot of seating there so bring a folding or collapsible chair to sit on.

Looking forward to seeing everyone Sunday the 17th!

I'm planning to be there.
I told my phone to remind me 2 days ahead, so Paul doesn't have to call me that afternoon.
Not that that's ever happened before, mind you... I'm just trying to prevent any possible complications.
And since it went over so well at the last potluck I attended, I will likely bring what Karl calls "pasta salad on a stick".

I'd love to be able to say for 100% that I'll be there but we usually gather at the gf's house for Father's Day. If I can swing out there I definitely will.

Will be attending......

Will be attending. Trying to get a few buddies in the Delavan area to attend as well. This shall be interesting, the location is right across from the police department. I know Delavan PD is very knowledgeable with the gun laws, but the people in the area go nuts when the see anyone with out a badge carrying. I haven't been harassed yet and i work out here. I think im going to bring chips, soda and brats. Look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.

Really? Not once. I OC in Delavan more than just about any other place (Wal-Mart, Starbucks, Panera, Chilis, Culvers, Elizabeth's) and have never even been looked at funny. Have had a couple good conversations with non-LEO people but never an issue.

We even had Delavan PD show up at one of our Starbucks meet and greets and had a coffee with us.

Should be a nice day for a ride. I am bringing a couple cheese and sausage trays, some napkins, and some chinet paper plates.

See you tomorrow.
